if-AI , highly-probing scouts / outmost bordering position units? i.e. move forward & back again, whenever near enemy units to indirectly determine subsequent movement of other combat units nearby, guesses-at needed distance back-behind the war of fog each turn, uses high-movement units specifically for this, keeps-in-reserve most units prepared for a fight in a cluster BEHIND the probing units who circle around in a 2nd outer ring?
Also when-AI, have a swam-in-response to 1 unit dying behaviour? if the battle turns against them they retreat, but otherwise a simple, keep-swarming until they win tactic?
New alternative weak-versions of units, that a significantly cheaper to make?
Efficiency-in-maintenance OF these cheaper units? partially self-sustaining?
Cannibalise weak-units? injured units ahead of units behind them, can be cannibalised, which either heals already-damaged units, or boosts full-health ones temporarily?
Also a map where insect civilizations mostly dominate the map.
