The dash length of the attack is pretty jarring to me. Every other dash in the game has you advance 3 squares, and I always keep that in mind as I'm using melee spells/Shotgun. Additionally, the dash going forward 4 squares instead of 3 makes fate shield so easy to get past enemies that I would even dare to say it's a bit overpowered, if balance is a concern (which it doesn't need to be, it's your mod). I would suggest for the sake of keeping the attack consistent with the rest of the dash attack in the game and making fate shield less consistently godlike that the dash be cut down to 3 squares instead of 4.
Overall fantastic mod! I appreciate the spin on Selicy, and look forward to more updates/mods from you!
I've never been a huge fan of frostbite as a card, it is in my opinion the worst frost card to start with, as it's hard to use (relative to other frost spells) and it just feels bad to have it in your deck without any sort of self-inflicted fragility. I have a couple suggestions for alternative starting cards:
-Blue Bullets or Minnie Gun would be a cool addition in my opinion. They play with the spell power theme in a cool way and work well with the power ring. I think it's okay just to have Ice Needle as the only frost card because it ideally applies 2 frost stacks, letting you pop frost with your normal attack
-Frost Bolt is a better feeling card to start with. It's simple and clean, and applies 1 frost like Frostbite if you want the starting deck to be ice heavy.
It allows me to use my favorite non-Selicy build (spell power multi hit) on my favorite character! It's a fantastic time!
