I'll see about fixing that inconsistency
michaeldejaeghere 25 SEP 2024 a las 10:37
In the history timeline it says that the capital is gent but in the overworl it says liege
Rosenthorn  [autor] 24 SEP 2024 a las 13:44
Because of the scale of the update, old saves can't be accessed. You can either start a new game with them or direct download the old version from the google drive link.

Unfortunately i wasn't about to not fix my mod on the off-chance some people were still using it.
ThunderAD 24 SEP 2024 a las 13:08
I have the same problem.
Moorske86 22 SEP 2024 a las 8:59
My saved games are dead seems this mod is listed in red and makes the game not load.
Rosenthorn  [autor] 22 SEP 2024 a las 6:15
Like i said, i changed the city name list. You won't find cities like Antwerp, Brussels or anything like that.
michaeldejaeghere 22 SEP 2024 a las 2:57
there is sill a flemish speeking minority in northern France
michaeldejaeghere 22 SEP 2024 a las 2:52
flanders in the middleages was bigger then it is now.
It did not inculde antwerp brusssels and belgian limburg.
But did incude zeeuws vlaanderen (now part of the Netherlands).
And parts of mothern day nortern france.
And cording to some folklore the dutch language originated Northern france
michaeldejaeghere 22 SEP 2024 a las 2:35
his mother was of the daughter of count robert of flanders
Rosenthorn  [autor] 21 SEP 2024 a las 14:06
While the dutch name for Thierry is Diederik, english has him as Theoderic and german as Dietrich. Thierry is his common name and I would expect to be the most accurate considering he's from a french family. He's Thierry of Alsace. Modern Dutch might call him Diederik, but he's not Dutch.
YouCanCallMeMarmelade 21 SEP 2024 a las 12:07
So is he gonna be called Diederik now
Rosenthorn  [autor] 21 SEP 2024 a las 10:08
I've realised my error was misinterpreting the "Flemish regions" as equatable to the Flemish people. I've taken another look and found i believe a better list of city names that i'll be updating the mod with.

I couldn't find enough information on the flemish language names for many of the cities, only a few, and so resorted to dutch for all the city names to create consistency.
Rosenthorn  [autor] 20 SEP 2024 a las 22:36
Apologies, in my research those cities were called Flemish and i believed they would historically fit into the County of Flanders as it was in the medieval times.
michaeldejaeghere 20 SEP 2024 a las 12:59
liege antwerp hasselt genk mechelen and prrobably some other cities where not flemish
And it was Diederik not Thierry
Rosenthorn  [autor] 20 SEP 2024 a las 7:30
Minor update that fixes citizen names being incorrect + the Goedendag being classified as unique to Thierry (didn't affect the gameplay of this mod, but would have made alternate leaders not have it)
Rosenthorn  [autor] 19 SEP 2024 a las 9:43
Updated with new art and minor reworks.
Rosenthorn  [autor] 27 FEB 2023 a las 7:53
Updated Goedendag to replace Man-at-arms.
Solarius Scorch 21 NOV 2022 a las 0:47
I like the "knight merchant" balance. A very nice option for a feudal theme with a pragmatic twist!
Zwei833 the Buggy Modder 9 JUL 2022 a las 1:33
How about makes the Goedendag replace Men-at-Arms rather than Swordsman?
Léonski 7 MAY 2022 a las 17:56
I hate to ask this but would you maybe give Flanders some more city names and rivers (like Zenne, Dender, Ijzer)?
Muh Uh 30 JUL 2021 a las 19:39
stoopid flanders
Bluesky95 8 MAY 2021 a las 21:42
is flanders belgium? lol

Goedendag bonus against mounted units doesn't seem to work for me. Nevertheless, there's still a bonus that these warriors don't require any iron (which is weird, since they are clad in iron chainmails).

P.S. Simpson civ when? Jk. Good civilization.

Bedankt om dit te maken.

Rosenthorn  [autor] 2 JUN 2020 a las 17:43
Hey, sorry about that. I uploaded a fix, should have the slot now.
maur1an 2 JUN 2020 a las 17:36
Hello Merrick when i'm playing with this mod my markhall don't have art slot
Rosenthorn  [autor] 31 MAY 2020 a las 4:01
I'll take a look
† GrimReaper † 31 MAY 2020 a las 2:47
Doesn't seem to work with Greatest Earth map yeamp. It loads but I cant see the settler and warrior. It also starts in Africa in the jungle :-)
Tetro75 25 MAY 2020 a las 19:46
The Goedendag was literally my favorite weapon in that show Conquest on the History Channel (2002-2003).
La Creatura 15 MAY 2020 a las 12:07
The alchemist mod doesn't seem to be the issue, the issue only happens when flanders is enabled. Other mods with buildings without models also seen to have the same issue with flanders enabled. Nothing gamebreaking, just thought i would report it.
Rosenthorn  [autor] 7 MAY 2020 a las 5:49
Ok? That seems like a problem with the alchemist mod rather then mine.
La Creatura 7 MAY 2020 a las 0:28
this civ seems to have a weird interaction with mods that add buildings without models like the alchemist mod. building the alchemists atelier adds the french palace on top of your standard one
Rosenthorn  [autor] 4 MAY 2020 a las 4:20
Robrecht III was my original concept for the leader. He was not inspiring any sort of ability for me. Not only that but much of his "history" is just made up story. He spends a bunch of time in a dungeon, tried to march on France but his soldiers stopped following him, and then he surrendered and re-signed the feudal bonds. Not too impressive.

Thierry was commonly known as Thierry of Alsace. He fought four campaigns in the Levant and Africa, including the second crusade. He was a distinguished crusader that brought back the blood of christ as a reward for his service. (which became part of a regular procession) and later he ruled over a peaceful Flanders that experienced great economic development.
† GrimReaper † 4 MAY 2020 a las 0:52
Just wondering: who is Thierry? :-)
Wasn"t Robrecht Van Bethune or Dampierre (both are the same person and he was also called Robrecht III) aka the Lion of Flanders not a better leader?

@Picrasso Nou zeg, da's geen goede morgen met de Corona joh
Rosenthorn  [autor] 20 ABR 2020 a las 13:40
Thanks for bringing that to my attention, not sure how that one got past me.
hussonfgr 20 ABR 2020 a las 8:50
Hello. thanks for your civs and leaders! pb: No slot for great work in my fist game with Thierry (just finished) for the markthall. In the Flanders_uniques.xml, nothing about it (downloaded yesterday, 18pm ECT)
Roodbaardt 20 ABR 2020 a las 1:44
Goedemorgen!
Rosenthorn  [autor] 19 ABR 2020 a las 14:03
@grimreaper it should have TSL support! i'll add it to the description
maur1an 19 ABR 2020 a las 8:54
oh this is so good to see you make mod
Rosenthorn  [autor] 19 ABR 2020 a las 7:24
The mod has been updated with fixes. The +1 population now triggers properly, as does the +1 Housing.
And as an addition, Flanders now has named rivers and lakes.
† GrimReaper † 19 ABR 2020 a las 3:25
Finally a Flemish mod!
Any plans to make it work with (certain) TSL earth or europe maps?
nikivdd 19 ABR 2020 a las 1:29
Bedankt! Thanks!
Cave Johnson 18 ABR 2020 a las 22:40
Don't be sorry, it is magnificent to see another mod by you. :D
This looks really interesting, thank you for the great work!
Rosenthorn  [autor] 18 ABR 2020 a las 19:08
There are a number of bugs that have been brought to my attention that do fun things like - grant you population in new cities you settle, based on all previously existing commercial hubs, harbors, and industrial zones. Among other things.
Getting those fixed now, apologies for the poor launch.
alejandro 18 ABR 2020 a las 15:38
Nice!
