Hi Coldbones, unfortunately this version is not, however the atmo-H2 version can:

and since that version has both atmo and H2 thrust, you should be able to take it to space, use it as a mining outpost, then fly back down to your planetside base.

Is this ship capable of flying in atmosphere when its full? For example, could I use it as a mining outpost on asteroids and then return to earthlike with the ore?

Yup, that's what they're for, but the PB for PAM is off by default, so you might need to turn it on to get them to work.

Also, that PAM is for sending commands to the the mining ships, so you have to make sure they're on the same PAM channel (check custom data).

Love your ships Spite. Just built this one. There's a button bar on the bridge, with 3 buttons that appear to have assignments. Any clues as to what those may be?

I was using the PAM. I'll try adjusting speeds with another one down the road, maybe I had the settings too high.

If it was just with PAM, then you could try changing the PAM settings a bit (I forgot if i did so for all the miners) but to avoid problems I normally have the job speed set to 1m/s and a 5% overlap. the 3 block gap between the drills is the limit of what I could get away with, bu it does mean slower mining speeds work better

Hmmm, that connector didnt give problems in testing, were you using it for manual mining or with PAM?

I don't think so, you've pretty much covered all the bases (at least for me). I haven't tried out the rover vehicles yet (spending most of our time in space), but I can't think of a function your ship list hasn't covered. I did notice that the 4 drill Agna MK III's underside connector sticks out a bit. When I ran PAM last night, the connector kept catching and forcing a "Stuck - Retrying" error while it was trying to drill and pull out. I ended up removing the connector and there's plenty of clearance now to tunnel mine. It could be a nuance for the asteroid I was mining, but everything seems fine now. Thanks again!

Sorry it was so tricky, the Hercules MK2 (when I get around to doing more LG stuff) should be a bit more user friendly now that I know a bit more about large grid, SAM and PAM.

@spite I appreciate your response. I ended up trying out the 4 drill Agna and converted one of the miner docking ports to take a rear-mounted as opposed to an underside. And you were spot on, I started the pathing for the 2 Drill Agna as low as possible and it works well, there is just enough clearance to the top of the bay for the ship to auto-dock without hitting anything.

I gotta say, I use your ship designs almost exclusively on my buddy's server, I almost can't play without them now :D. Thanks for taking the time to design and upload your work!

Hi Gozzie, I built these ships a while before I did those 6 drill miners, so I have yet to update the description to specify which miners should be compatible. Some testing is needed, but I'm not sure the 6 drill miners can fit this version Hercules. However they should work fine with the Hercules-IQ 1280, using the rear coneector on the miner.

I will be updating these today to fix some piping issues (hydrogen engines apparently can't pull fuel through a sorter) and changing the description to a list of the miners from that collection that will fit the docks.

The 2 Drill miners should fit, however due to the way PAM does its pathing (it likes to go up and away from the connector before it follows the waypoints), I recommend you record your miners path out from the dock as low as you can. I will also update the descriptions to include that.

Love your ship designs, and I just finished building up this bad boy to mine. One huge issue is that my miners keep coming in too high or too hot and ramming themselves into the Herc. Any way to adjust this to avoid it? I just blew up one of your 6 drill miners and damaged a 2 drill miner that should be compatible with it (part of the ship pack you produced). Thanks in advance!
