I'm going to boot it up in the next ten minutes and see if things change.
- Addon: Client side only, cosmetic changes that are safe/compatible with Multiplayer.
- Asset Pack: A collection of files that can be utilized by Config mods.
- Config Mod: A mod that is synchronized across Multiplayer joins, ensuring everyone has the same files. These mods can effect game play (maps, objects, weapons, etc,) These mods can also load Asset Packages as required items.
This means that someone can make an Asset Pack that contains X, and other people that make Mods A, B, and C, can all add it as a Dependency item. That means when the owner of X can update/fix bugs in their asset pack, and the owners of mods A, B, and C, don't have to do anything to update or stay in sync with it.
This item is an Asset Pack, it is currently utilized by the following known mods:
- Vet Strat Recycler Variant
- Forgotten Enemies: Remastered
- Biometal Mod Pack
- Aegeis All In One Pack
- G66 2.0
- Battlezone Combat Commander - Reimagined
The way BZCC's mod system works:
3 types of mods:
Addon mod - MP safe, local only changes (skins, sounds, UI, etc)
Config mod - A toggle-able mod that can change anything about the game.
Asset Package - A resource pack that Config mod(s) can include. Allows for multiple people's mods to share assets created by others.
The benefit of Asset packages is that it reduces the need for a bunch of duplicate files, and when an asset pack is updated, the config mod(s) using it don't need to do anything since the update is automatically done.
