Gotta say, it looks like the character designer from first three games probably got changed. Can't really put my finger on it... Maybe their heads got bigger and cheekbones are more pronounced. Maya seems like the only character who has the same general head shape, but i have a feeling they just reused it

They removed her skirt, it was a pain to make her a player model for Gmod. Regular shorts / jeans are much easier to work with.

Glad they didn't totally butcher her adult design. They did a good job of transitioning her out of her rebellious teenager look from the previous game, IMO.
