This mod sucks. I'm still mag dumping soldiers unless I land head shots but this mod makes the weapons more inaccurate. Now there are no viable long range weapons. 3+ body shots with a magnum?

God I love this mod, especially on hard. I love that it forces me to actually think in combat as going guns blazing almost always guarantee's death. I love that the enemies don't shoot peanuts and actually pack a punch. I love that the enemies aren't bullet shields.

If you could, can you make this mod work for Blue Shift? If not that's okay and if it does work on BS then I'm gonna be rlly happy :>

first i thought this didnt work, then i noticed 50 bullets max for 9mm. eeerm, how am i supposed to play like this if i need 30 shots to take down 1 enemy? also u write in ur xml at inflict dmg scale 3 "If you go higher, it will take more than 2 headshots to kill marines with MRD" are u sure thats how it works? btw i need more then 2 headshots already the way it IS setup. i very much suspect some changes in the skill.cfg just dont work anymore :/

I'm going to need someone to explain this to me--
So there is this WONDERFUL little file containing the specifics of a weapon's damage count, problem? I don't entire understand it when none of them are to be found in the actual Black Mesa game files. What is there to replace, let alone edit?

the mod is great, but the Ichthyosaur can now be killed by one shot from a pistol and sometimes even dies by himself

The Black Mesa Character Expansion states it uses your hitbox mod for the Human NPCs, so this mod is compatible with that mod?

noticing the same issue as the guy below. most of the game has been alright so far, damage-taken wise. however, no matter how well i try to outmaneuver the chopper's guns and land a charged tau shot on it, i get mowed down before i have time to charge up a second shot, no matter what difficulty i'm on or how much health/power i have. the only way possible way to get past that part was to jump into the water and climbing up the tower before the helicopter could be triggered

@Mirellanmål I mean fight with tau canon which starts with helicopter destroing a bridge. Heli is hitting with every shot and dealing serious damage. I don't have anywhere to run or hide and heli has too much HP to be killed before it starts atacking. I'm on Black Mesa difficulty, but even on normal it's the same.

@Iron The idea was that enemies would be easier to kill but the player would also die more easily. Which one may or may not enjoy.

@Iron Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it. What difficulty setting did you play on? There are three options: Normal, Black Mesa and Hard.

I could increase the "damage taken" variable that controls damage taken by the player, which is now set to 0.75 on "Black Mesa". I had it higher at first but I felt some parts of the game would become too difficult for many players. Spots with many soldiers mostly. Do you think I should increase it? To combat the issue of soldier fights being to difficult I could perhaps lower the damage of the NPCs' weapons, but I would prefer not to.

I am absolutely in favour of altering the ammo pickups and/or maximum carried ammo counts to help balance this mod. I think the design philosophy present in Alyx and Doom Eternal back this up pretty well. Plus the maps are already full of hidden loot piles, reinforcing the incentive to explore.
Feels really good though, just not balanced.

@AmenNoose @Hmmmmm The Workshop menu in-game is not functioning at the moment. It's being worked on by Crowbar. If this mod works, marines will die from 2 glock or MP5 headshots on any difficulty. Without the mod it will take more than that. There is one exception though in either scenario: When you catch them off-guard it seems to always take one headshot to kill them (maybe more without the mod), not sure why.

@Hmmmmm I can't help you troubleshoot unless you provide more information on what you have tried and in what way it doesn't work.

I'm thinking of lowering the maximum amount of ammo you can carry and perhaps the amount of bullets in each clip. What do you guys think of that? I have personally never been out of ammo, and I think it's a bit boring that you barely have to worry about that. After playing Half-Life: Alyx, I can say that limited ammo certainly works and makes for fun gameplay.
