Hi, the new GC mechanics provide a golden opportunity I do not have the skill to take advantage of:

what if you could form a "fanatic coalition" of some sort to apply 6 ethics to the galaxy? (mine would be fanatic egalitarian, fanatic xenophile, fanatic materialist. then based on the ethics picked it would do one of two things:

1. Break up all federations in the GC, form one new fed with an elected president that uses the imperial mechanics to have a Galactic federation fleet, with the fan egal and other two fanatic ethics. Those who refuse would spin off and form the empire ;)

2. Break up all federations in the GC, form the empire as normal, but impose fan auth and the other two fanatic ethics chosen.

What do you think? My multiplayer group that roleplays coldwars would turn off our six ethics mod and take this one instead, if we could impose six ethics at the galactic level.

Would love to see your mod get properly integrated with the new Expanded Espionage Mechanics as a type of new spy mission as stated by Herr Maledictus Made. Hope you get a chance to work on it. Great mod!

yeah... this certainly seems like it should tie into the new espionage system now. Ill figure out how to do that eventually.

FYI... improving relations and harming relations are now mutually exclusive so this may no longer work as intended.

It seems even with two envoys at an empire, it still takes a long while for their ethics to shift.

Haven't tested this mod yet but it sounds promisinig. Do you get a casus belli if an enemy epire tries to change your ethics so you can force the enemy envoys out or go to war if they don't remove them?

Hi @starchitec! I downloaded the mod and I'm trying it out. I noted it was written for version 2.6. I took a quick look and everything looked good so I updated it to 2.7 in my local build. Just an FYI... the update is a quick fix.

I seem to have encountered a bug. Was minor in my case but could be a real issue for some people.

I spent several decades unsuccessfully trying to convert a fellow federation member with 2 envoys. I then had a need to actually improve relations with someone, so I did the following:
1. Move all my envoys to improve relations with the new guy
2. Change my diplomatic stance

Unexpected result: my relationship with that federation member dropped 200 points immediately as all those years of harming relations seem to have been applied retroactively.

Yeah. 1 improving and 1 harming relations is the max you can get in a single country.

If he only has a trigger for when you are improving relations, more than one probably won't do anything since it's just a true/false. Could be wrong.

So I should send 2 envoys to as many empires as I can, rather then try and focus on enlightening one at a time, I see.
I'd suggest adding a clarification text in game - in diplomatic stance description, perhaps.

Ah no. That is partly because I dont have a trigger to count envoys, just whether or not you are improving relations. But also the limit is probably a good thing, dont want you to be able to send 10 envoys for 100% ethics attraction that would be too much.

A very interesting mod. One aspect isn't very clear from the description though - do multiple Envoys sack their effect? As in, can I send 4 Envoys and get 60% ethics attraction? Or is it capped at only 1 Envoy?

You can still improve/harm in other stances tho. If you use evangelist, you just are focused on something entirely different than relations. If I could make an entirely new interaction in the diplo screen to "promote ethics" I would have. That is less moddable so this was the solution.

I think that removing the basic effect of improving/harming relations is too much. Stances already have bonuses, and lacking such a bonus doesn't sound right. I think that the "evangelization" is a bonus in itself, so envoys should still do their job
