Cool spells but good lord are they ever too common. By the vault i've already found Gold material twice, 6 copies of midas touch, and a wand with 10 circle of gold.

idk if its just me but the spells included are incredibly rare

Lol it would be funny if there was a gold spark bolt that turned whatever it hit into a pile of gold

I've just tested it, and this mod seems to be working fine with the 1.0 update. I also took the opportunity to do a little balancing pass. Don't worry, you can still get infinite gold (I won't take that away), it just costs a little more either to buy or cast the spell in most cases.

Just a quick update note: I've completely redone Touch of Midas so that it acts more like Chainsaw. I've also stopped it hurting entities, so you can use it at close range without fear but can no longer use it to turn enemies into gold. (The vanilla spell Touch of Gold still works for that, obviously.) You can see it in action in one of the newly-uploaded preview GIFs. (One for each spell! \o/ ) I've wanted to redo Touch of Midas ever since I learned Touch of Gold existed in the game, and finally had an idea of how to do.

I originally found this mod on modworkshop.net where the author seems to have abandoned it, and since they mentioned in the original description that people could do whatever with it I decided it was too much fun not to share with a broader group of people on Steam.

@Faust You can use the Cheatgui mod to give yourself spells. These ones are definitely on the rare side. :)

is there any way to give yourself these spells at the start of a run? they look super fun to mess around with but i've gone through a few lives and haven't seen them yet

So funnily enough I first saw Touch of Gold in-game a day after NeonRaven pointed out it existed. After some thought I've decided to leave Touch of Midas in the mod, because the vanilla spell is so incredibly rare and I think it's a fun spell effect to play with.

@Philadelphus IDK what differences there are between the two spells (if any,) but maybe take out one and increase the drop rate of the other.

@NeonRaven Oh. Wow. So it is. Over 150 hours in this game and I've never seen that spell before. Huh. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll have to think about what I want to do with it.

um you do realize that your "touch of midas" is in the vanilla game as "touch of gold", don't you?

Basically replaces having to go to the secret gold stash with fun spells
