This very same system you described was used here in Czechoslovakia. And before trucking took of it was used everywhere. I live on a local track which runs the 810 motorwagon, and at all the larger villages, and at centrally located villages of all sizes something sort of like this warehouse is always present with a large truck turning loop somewhere nearby. The only complication was meat delivery, irl the solution was to have a refrigerated truck have a cash register onboard and sell directly to the street, if the village had a larger supermarket that the truck obviously went there.

I am very fond of the idea of using trains to supply a village, so I have tweaked your building in my own game so that it can also store a small mount of meat. This way it can adequately supply the whole village. I like it very much! Thank you!

how much does this hold? maybe that could be added to the description?

There is no way to mirror buildings, but also adding a road from another side wouldn't really be aesthetic, as the vehicle station would make the vehicle do a few circles

This is a very useful building to me but I was wondering if it could either have a mirror version or have an additional road/factory connection on the opposite side?
I just ask as right now I want to put this down above my warehouse but to get the factory connection the road is facing the wrong way.
Unless of course there is a way in game to mirror when plopping down a building that I dont know of.
