Thanks for having made the exact mod I got annoyed enough to go look for just now even if it's outdated <3
emergingsea 2 iul. 2024 la 9:04
finally, thanks for this. i feel like authoritarian should be able to make their empire species Utopian abundance
QuantumKitten  [autor] 20 iul. 2023 la 9:35
Ah, yeah. that's also a good point. 400 isn't many anyway.
Dotakiin  [autor] 13 iul. 2023 la 9:00
I think we should go with having mine be the updated one. This one still has 400+ subscribers, some of whom are likely on old versions of stellaris and still using it.
QuantumKitten  [autor] 13 iul. 2023 la 8:44
Eh? Oh... that's.... a weird way for things to work. Sorry for sending you down that rabbit-hole, I had no idea that contributors couldn't .... contribute?

So I guess that leaves two options. We can rename this as [old] and link through to your one from here, or I just pull your one and re-upload it here. Linking through to yours would leave you holding the reins in the future. I'll go with whichever you'd prefer.
Dotakiin  [autor] 12 iul. 2023 la 13:02
Just tried to update it, and went down a rabbit hole to learn that only the original owner can update workshop files. Co owners can only update and moderate the page on the workshop.
QuantumKitten  [autor] 12 iul. 2023 la 12:32
@Dotakiin Sry, Got er... distracted by life. I've now added you as a collaborator :-)
Darkaiser 16 iun. 2023 la 10:15
I like mods like this that fix that one niggling little thing instead of making broad, sweeping changes.
Dotakiin  [autor] 1 mai 2023 la 14:43
Sure, I would join as a collab. To make my update of the mod, I checked the changes this version has, then took the current utopian abundance section from Stellaris and applied the same changes.
The only overwrite is living_standard_utopian, removing the few lines that checked ethics.
QuantumKitten  [autor] 1 mai 2023 la 2:48
@Dotakiin: Alright, that sounds like something I'm comfortable with. Just to double check, there's nothing included in yours that could affect things in other ways, like accidentally overwriting any changes to other aspects of the living standard or anything else that might come from other updates or mods?

So, would you like to be added as a colab to this mod?
Dotakiin  [autor] 30 apr. 2023 la 16:55
The file structure changed, which is what caused this mod to stop working. The new mod just took the original utopian abundance from 3.7 and removed the section requiring ethics.
QuantumKitten  [autor] 30 apr. 2023 la 13:37
Thanks @Dotakiin for posting this.

If someone can confirm that the new version is working as intended, I'm happy to make you (Dotakiin) a contributer to this mod so the update can be rolled out directly to all subscribers, or if you'd prefer I can simply add a link to your version in the description.

I'm not playing Stellaris myself at the moment, so can't test.
Dotakiin  [autor] 25 apr. 2023 la 10:44
I made an updated version of this mod for my own use, and have posted it here. I have tested that I can use Utopian Abundance without Egalitarian, but have not verified the yields yet.

does not work
Nikyria 10 febr. 2023 la 5:27
Doesn't work for me anymore either.
Parrot 9 febr. 2023 la 15:09
I don't believe this works anymore, maybe it's just for me and my mods.
Aesyaan 7 febr. 2023 la 19:19
does this still work?
ACExtravaganza 21 aug. 2022 la 12:03
with this as the only mod, utopian abundance does not have a cost in consumer goods
QuantumKitten  [autor] 10 ian. 2022 la 0:14
@Porcelain My *guess* is that you've got another mod touching the same code. Posting a mod list might help, but I'm no longer doing Stellaris stuff, so I probably won't be able to give you an answer. Maybe someone else will though.
Elarel 9 ian. 2022 la 18:57
I have this mod at the bottom of the load order and it still isnt taking effect....
I dont have Ethics and Civics Classic. Do you know what other mods might effect utopian abundance?
QuantumKitten  [autor] 21 dec. 2021 la 15:50
@Erokstol:

I think that'd need an entirely separate plugin specifically made specifically for Ethics and Civics Classic. It wouldn't be just a matter of doing a minor tweak in this mod. I'm not doing any Stellaris modding at the moment, but perhaps you could ask in the Ethics and Civics Classic board whether they're willing to make a plugin. It should be fairly trivial for someone who know's how the mod works.
Erockstol 16 dec. 2021 la 16:46
could you make a version for ethics and civics classic? It edits utopian abundance and putting this at the bottom doesn't help
QuantumKitten  [autor] 12 sept. 2021 la 4:09
@Modemus

Thanks for the confirmation.
Modemus 10 sept. 2021 la 15:36
It works, it just has to be loaded last
QuantumKitten  [autor] 23 iun. 2021 la 15:01
I'm not playing Stellaris at the moment. Can anyone give specifics about how it's not working?
umizaru1993 18 iun. 2021 la 23:57
May I ask what is the right load order? I tried to put it in the end but it still doesn't work.
KreygasmTR 21 mai 2021 la 2:53
Still Works you just need to get the load order right.
ArcaneGamer 14 mai 2021 la 20:39
doesnt work
ArcaneGamer 18 apr. 2021 la 21:33
does this still work
勃艮第农庄 6 oct. 2020 la 20:48
it doesn't work
Gentle 7 mai 2020 la 14:27
It's still working. Check your mod compatibility.
Riddler 7 mai 2020 la 14:11
this doesent appear to work for me, can someone update it?
Willem 8 apr. 2020 la 5:56
If you're going to include my idea, here's another addition that's good for this whole concept:

If there are Multiple Species in your Empire, and you only allow one or a few to live in Utopian Abundance, the other Species should start getting Negative Ethics attraction (Unfair treatment, this should count double or even Triple for Slaves whom have to labour to exhaustion under basic subsistence so their masters can live in the lap of luxury, just think of historical precedents where that lead to a Violent Revolution)
QuantumKitten  [autor] 7 apr. 2020 la 14:45
@Willem That's a pretty good idea - perhaps I could add a 20 year debuff to governing ethics attraction if you move over to a different living standard (which could of course be removed after 10 years by moving back). Perhaps the severity of the debuff could depend on which living standard you switch to.

If I feel inspired enough I might just take a dig and see if that can be done without overriding any more vanilla code. I reckon something could be done with the event system.
Willem 7 apr. 2020 la 8:29
Thanks for this mod, I never understood the Need to be Egalitarian for Utopian Abundance, when there's even one Authoritarian AI personality that is all about maximizing Happiness at the expense of free will. (Harmonious Collective)

(If anything: Utopian Abundance should be available to any Ethos combination, and increase attraction to the governing Ethics for every population under Utopian Abundance) (After all: their current Government is giving so much care to its people, conversely: removing Utopian Abundance should give negative governing ethics attraction)

NICE MOD!!!

@Derejin You're welcome!
Derejin 9 mart. 2020 la 9:31
Ah, thank you for this: was playing a friendly monarchy and when production was high enough wanted to swap to Utopian, but couldn't. :P
QuantumKitten  [autor] 9 mart. 2020 la 6:28
If anyone can tell me how to get the f##king thumbnail to work, I'd really appreciate it.
