I was able to get it to work without VEF loaded, by doing the following:
1. Subscribe to Vanilla Expanded Framework.
2. Open the VEF 1.6 assemblies folder located here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2023507013\1.6\Assemblies"
and copy the 0ModSettingsFramework.dll file.
3. Then open the VTE 1.6 assemblies folder located here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2016436324\1.6\Assemblies", and paste the 0ModSettingsFramework.dll file into that folder.
Then unsubscribe from VEF and start your game.

1.Unistall rimworld from steam
2.Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and delete rimworld folder if its still there after the uninstall
3.Go to C:\Users\yourusername , once here enable "show hidden elements" then continue C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\LocalLow here delete the Ludeon Studios folder
4.empthy your pc trashbin
5.Defragment and optimize your ssd
6.Download Rimwold from steam .. your engine is fixed
if you dont do step 3 you do nothing your game will be still corrupted if u fked it already (happens when you swap a few mods rimworld is super easily corrupted but at the same time its 2 min reinstalll) 99% of all errors are due to missing step 3
Also, does vanilla expanded apparel retexture base-game apparel to be more upscaled?
I'm noting it here as the dev has disabled comments and only chats through that dodgy Boosty app.
``In case you’re running other texture replacement mods, make sure to place them AFTER this one in the mod load order in order to have them prioritised.''
What could be the reason for this? me too
