Yeah, it's a shame it could be the red banner field with the gold cost of arms the Communist Argentina flag had, for a placeholder atleast.

The issue now is Paradoxes Mesopotamia flag with nothing. I have a feeling the Assyria flags would make sense but, that's just a repeat basically.

@Zandrus I did change Brazil's but for Argentina there wasn't too much I could find that' wasn't severely anachronistic or fictional and unlike Brazil there really wasn't any historical flags they had to easily work as a basis.

I have a question, why do you keep the Brasil/Argentine South American flags be the same as their original ones they have?

Disregarding the horrible ahistoric decisions by Paradox on using Mola of leading the Falangist directory/path, my PC has unfortunately taken another hit recently.

I will scour many sources for flag proposals, but I do know from Stanley Paynes "Falange" book, that the flag of the Spanish Empire with the Falange arrows in the middle would not be accepted, as the Falangists despised the red and yellow Bourbon flag, more than likely using their party flag.

I will keep pursuing the Falangist national flag (of the Spanish Empire) proposals, especially of Jose Antonio's own mouth and realistically, considering the martyrdom they would subscribe to that flag proposals to honor his memory.

@Zandrus I have no plans to change the flag of the Spanish Directory as that was the one used by the Spanish State whilst Emila Mola was "the Director" and his plans for a regime based upon the republic it's likely the initial nationalist flag with the same symbolism of the republic would remain. As for the Falangists flag if you can provide the sources for the proposed flags as from what I've see had him only present with the party flag.

Hello Xander Walrus, I am wondering if we might see changes for the Spanish directory/Spanish empire flags to be changed, and using the Falange Flag for the Empire, if not finding another that may be based on Jose Antonios proscription of a flag (supposedly it would include the gold field and 4 red band flag as a base and more likely the symbol of the falange in the center), while keeping the other Spanish flags just as they are.

I don't think the real life reichskommisariats used the TNO flags. Especially for ones like Norway and Netherlands

I also wanna point out that indeed, F and Non-Aligned Korea are siblings of the Yi Dynasty, so F Korea flag should be the same as the Non aligned flag.

I would say this flag is better for a different MPR flag.

Your flag would only exist for 4 years, while this one is 5 years, and lasts through the intense wartime period.

@Burleon That's more of an issue on pdx's part as there is an actual cosmetic tag for a monarchist Greece whilst democratic and fascist but it's only applied for the constitutional monarchy focuses, I could change the default tag to be the Kingdom aswell but that would me if it ends up fascist as a republic or if historically puppeted by the Axis it will not longer be the "Hellenic State" but the kingdom, sadly either way will have to compromise the other.

Just a little tip if you can fix it, when you play fascist Greece ( not the Byzantine path ) there is a event where you can keep Metaxas and the King or go National Socialist and abolish the monarchy, can you make it so if you go fascist metaxas you keep the monarchy flag? I'd make more sense

@Zandrus The two coloured Greenland flags are based on generalizations of earliest proposed colour schemes for the flag, democratic and communist are just simple edits based on the older coat of arms.

@Zandrus I did this to create a consistency for West Germany having both Non-alligned and Fascist with the tricolor as I wanted to avoid for example a fascist East Germany and Non-Alliged West Germany sharing the same flags, the same goes for post civil war Germany if you go that route.
Although an Argument could be made as you said West Germany having this flag although if we talking Alt-history like the scenario I mentioned it doesn't necessarily mean that the formation of a fascist/national socialist East German state to have Remer form the party there instead of Hamelin,I think it's a good solution to the initial flag problem.

Hello, the DDR fascism flag is from the SRP party, the West German Neo Nazi party that was founded some years later after the war, by Remer.

Fascist East Germany might need another flag, considering the NDPD, it may be the Black-White-Red flag.

@Torquemado Updated the democratic flag to the Ikurrina, I left non-alligned as there's no separate cosmetic tag for Navarre/Monarchist like with Catalonia > Aragon although I could change it for sake of accuracy.
However I could not find any info/flags for Fascist or Nationalist aligned Basque only the Franco era Navarrese flag although that could also be changed to the Ikurrina if wanted as it's not an egregious/inaccurate change.

Basque country has the Navarra flag. Correct flag is the Ikurriña. (Spain)

@donald.grape There are various other flag mods and even vanilla if you want cooler/anachronistic flags, the aim of this mod is to be as objective to history as possible regardless of any preferences.

Understanding the history does not make it less hideous. Maybe you could somehow separate the bird from the waves? I mean, come on, it doesn't have to be 100% historical.

@donald.grape I changed because from what I could find the Zambia flag was adopted from the UNIP which didn't exists earliest until 1959, and there where no flags adopted by the Northern Rhodesia Congress so the closest I could get to a non-anachronistic flag was making one based of the emblem of Northern Rhodesia similar to what KR does the only alternative I could do is just use the actual blue ensign flag they used but that would lack context if they where independent or subject of another nation than Britain.

The facist Netherlands flag should be as in the orginal game. Orange, white, light blue. (prinsenvlag) Before 1937 it was debated the dutch flag should be either red,white, blue or orange, white, blue. (democratic) But facist Netherlands is for certain orange, white, light blue.

@Dashan9301 This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile but put off assuming Paradox would add a scripted effect that set a cosmetic tag for Britain without Ulster and then adding the flag for that so there's still the communist flag for Britain with Ulster/Ireland for any potential alt-history scenario, but given that people having been asking for that feature for 6-7 years I doubt it will get it added so I'll just add the flag without the saltire to the mod to prioritize accuracy.

Please remove Saint Patrick's saltire from the communist Britain flags, a communist government in Britain would not support occupation of Ireland and their flags would represent that. Other than that, looks like a decent mod that from my limited knowledge tries to address historical inaccuracies in the base game.

@Zandrus I usually just search in the code for them for example "Set Cosmetic Tag" that's also useful as often the tags they use for flags and localization is often wrong and doesn't match the ones in the code

Mod updated for new DLC all flags added updated also added some lacking from vanilla cosmetic tags likely will be only mod on the workshop that does for awhile same with cross ideology cosmetic tags again.
Country names should be soon just gotta add the cosmetic names and then done.

@Zandrus Fix is just ensure the flags are actually uncompressed as said before if I didn't and sometime slipped up the flags would still work guessing though something changed with a smaller patch, kinda annoying cause whilst 99% of them are uncompressed doing all the flags for abstract nations/cosmetics and then the medium and small variants can get monotonous that sometimes if GNU decides to enable compression it's easy to forget to disable it.

I released and puppeted them after winning the war in Ethiopia as historical Italy, for context.

Whats the fix for the GNU issue then?

@Zandrus nvm figured it out GNU automatically sets compression on when exporting and prior when doing it if a flag was compressed Hoi4 would still use the flag, I'm guessing at some point very very recently something has messed it so where it has to be uncompressed no matter what.

@Zandrus In the game what was the context for Harar like how did they exist and become Fascist, trying to narrow down if any hidden code might set a random cosmetic tag that messes with the flags.

Update: I deactivated this mod and with the vanilla flags, the Harar Fascist flag does pop up in all its formats.

Something is definitely off.

@Zandrus I just checked in game and no placeholder flag for Harar, I even tried messing around with puppeting and setting potential ideology cosmetic tags but still no placeholder one.
