Here you all go, 1.5 and 1.6 because I can't live without this mod. I'll try to rework the animal rugs later, I'm thinking of doing them so they need a specific leather rather than messing with the pelts.

I agree with Kota, this mod is really good but the dang animal pelt rugs suck. They just get in the way all the time.

Why not just add a different butcher type so that pelts can be one and the regular butchering is another?

I have to remove the mod rn in my playthrough because I killed a bunch of migrating megasloths, but I don't need like 6 megasloth rugs, I need their fur and downgrading to patchleather is a feelsbadman.

It's a great mod, I don't know why stuff like this wasn't already in the game or covered by something like furniture expanded. Rug/carpet making was a big deal for a very long time, and was pretty much the only way to cover the ground in your tents while traveling. If you had the space to haul the rugs, anyway.

I'll check back in with this mod later, I'm not removing it completely just moving it to inactive for now!!

@Ericus1 - There was not. Not sure why I never did. But now you can take the skins and make patchleather at tailor or rug benches.

Is there any way to convert the skins just to regular furs/leather? I have no interest in making animal rugs but now have an ever increasing pile of skins I have no use for.

I don't know anything about the legal side of using images off google but here are some examples of what I'm talking about:

A small range of odd sizes would give it a rough tribal look, like 2x2 rounds and 1x3 strips. Ideally, the "collision" or whatever Rimworld uses on these would be a bit smaller than the image, so you can layer them on top of each other to cover gaps in the floor, but I don't know how that works with draw layers.

Sounds doable for sure. Like simple fur rugs right? Give me some art examples. I can't create them from complete scratch but I can manipulate what you give/show me.

My tribal colony requests some rough hide/fur rugs, in not-so-perfect squares and circles. In temporary structures like teepees and igloos, natives would usually just throw down some trimmed pelts rather than construct a floor

if anyone is interested, made a simple re-texture for the workbench, nothing special. Looked up how rugs are hand made just made a texture based on that.

I made a small addition if anyone is interested. The recipe to remove Thrumbo Horn from the Thrumbo Rug returns both the horn and a hornless rug.

All Muffalo issues have been addressed. Sorry for the delay.

I had to re-write the MOD to use XPATH patching, as it was still overwriting animal defs.

I'm with Levi! Was having issues with Muffalos. Went through painstakingly going through every single mod to find out which was causing the issue. Unloading this mod removed my issue. Reloaded my modpack and no issues.

I really like the animal rugs but not the additional ones and I want to try to create a "lite" version with only the animal rugs, using ref patching to be more compatible, would you allow me to publish it on the workshop ?

Hey :) I had this mod and it was causing issues on the main menu thing it would have an error log thing, and when i was in a game, it would deactivate rimhud if i clicked on training on a muffalo..I can confirm its this mod as Ive gone through my list 1 by 1 and now everything works perfectly without this...

This MOD doesn't mess with harvest plant mechanics, so weird. If you have an error log that may help.

First of all good job with this they look fantastic.

That said, this mod is incompatible with the Animal Tab mod, it messes with the interface display, and the auto harvest interface (I'm guessing it's probably due to whatever changes were made to the harvesting mechanics). Would love to try it out, but Auto-Harvest is a must have feature for RimWorld Ideology play throughs now.

I don't know much about modding and I have a lot of mods,

but this singular mod being active causes a "muffallo trainability = null" error when I enable it, and goes away when I disable it.

Thought I'd say something. Love the mod but had to leave disabled.

@PoofyGummy - I updated the code so it says it's for 1.3 and won't flag, but I have not tested it. I'll add it to a game later and see. It really needs overhauled to be honest.

Is there any way to remove the butcher changes? I really really like the fancy rugs but I want to be able to make heavy fur clothes from my megasloth butchering rather than a rug.

@jarrah - the horns are still on the skins, you can take the horns off at a rug making table.

Good point.Why not have them made of leathers too? I think i'll have some time to look into that later this week.

Why don't you just make it so rugs can be made out of leather/fur? It seems so obvious and practical to make it that way.

That and the fact that you stopped thrumbos dropping horns for no reason are the two things stopping me from downloading this mod.

This is a neat mod.
I agree that some of the critter rugs need to be downsized. 3x3 for muffalo and bear looks more correct to me based on the animal sprites. I did this with a text editor, but then the mod updated again. I suppose I could just download a static version. I think they need associated lower costs too.

Other suggested change - the animal skins need a value. And perhaps a non-cloth recipe that isn't as valuable. Something to incentivise doing something with the basic skins if I'm not growing cotton.
