I love this ship. It is a really great starter vessel. I've used this as my starter ship in the last 3 or 4 games including a Reforged Eden 1 play through. There is even a RE version I believe. Modified it several times including putting big thrusters on the back, thrust upgrades all around, ice mining turrets, and 4 mining lasers in the front. It lost the sleek design at that point but this made it useful after I got other ships. It is always a little sad to leave this ship after using it to save up for a big ship.

Really like this ship! Can someone recommend a small vessel that fits well in the dock? tried the SSW ones but they are a bit cramped need something more compact.

The best early-game CV, in my opinion, including for Reforged Eden!
- Plenty of storage space, which is great for long missions or simply going out mining;
- Enough firepower to keep most common annoyances away, works well for base defense too;
- Awesome interior and exterior design, looks great in any environment;
- Very cheap in terms of materials, on par with the Wayfarer-ST2;

Wonderful Craft. Well made and can be modified for what ever purpose you need.

I like the ship. Great lines and utility. Maneuvers surprisingly well for the size. I would like a bit more speed. How many thrusters will get it some more? Two extra medium in the rear made no difference. Just FYI I am playing vanilla SP.

like it alot, i have the shade on my vanilla account, buy wanted to try something a little bigger, this hauled 8 sv's from one base to another. nice and big landing area's help a lot, to carry what you need on an expiditon.i can set it down turn the thrusters off and not have to worry about drones when i leave to go mining or run a poi or do what ever. i did opt out of the off line protection and used that for the cpu blocks as i felt it was a more secure area.

Read door no longer detecting player, anyone else have this? Sensors are still there, even spawned a new one in, into crative just to check, all the settings are the same but the back door just does not want recognize me or HV any longer.

So, I recently found and started playing Empyrion. Question on this cool CV: once you upgrade to T4 CPU, couldn't you add more stuff to include beefy weapons, upgrade to combat steel, etc. to prolong longevity of use? Forgive my ignorance... I am new here. :) Thanks for any added info/ perspective!

I love this one. It took a while to get the mats for it but then the day after I finished it, I found a wrecked freighter in a system and filled up both 240k storages with mats and modules.

Gmac9169: I thought so too, but it seems they lower your power draw instead of charging. You can't add capacitors either. I slapped four of the big panels on top. They lower my draw by roughly 400KW

This is amazing CV, really cool looking. Problem is, it has no future role. Janus ASV docks to Helios, turns into scout/miner mid game, has shit ton of lift. This one is great in the beginning, but then in mid game you end up scrapping it. So Janus is better, but it is a flying brick. This one looks cool, but is for early game only.

Can anyone explain why the solar panels for CV's in Reforged Eden aren't working for this CV?

@Cutter did the lights get turned off? Been using this forever and haven't had that problem.

This was my first CV and is really an amazing ship with all utility close each other too , i really wonder if there is some modded version for mid eng-game with more weapons since i dont want to leave this amazing ship!

Thanks for the BP. I was having my plants die after warping for no apparent reason. After investigating with the debug menu, the following areas did not register as airtight. I patched them and did not have issues afterwards.

This was my first Randall ship and it handles great. The design makes it easy to access all the compartments. I up graded the hull and added sliding shutters to the front windows for added protection.I wish it had combat steel but the shields have helped in many sorties. TY

This reminds me of XCal's old Talon Blade SV build from back when he was a relative noname weenie. ;-) Once I had that, I just didn't sweat a decent CV. Created a boxy flatbed to warp it around, then just went gathering real estate, goodies, and spankin bad guys. Upgrading it to lvl 20 + weapons was easy. This one, I'm struggling a bit with.

My favorite CV in the game, so cool and good! Our lil group of 4 uses this as our main base for a long time. I made a striped down version to require less rare minerals just to get it faster, because when we start a new campaign we can't wait to get it!

For anyone wondering: 25+hrs into Project Eden Dead2 start and this is one of the best starter CVs I've played with. Added a shield, that's it. Amazing the amount of functionality Randall's thrown into hot little beast, especially for the price.

Ok, 1) Stunning ship! 2) Damned if you didn't squeeze in a couple of beds. LOL After a 4 night spazfest grinding through a Project Eden Dead start, I set this as my Workshop target figuring you wouldn't disappoint. And, you sir, with this design ,did not. Funny bit was me running around aboard her looking into every nook/cranny for a bed after I got off planet, warped, and snagged food/O2/Ammo. I'm bunny hopping around, going..really? Then I found the nook. Well done! Ships like this is why I love playing EGS.

This is literally the best ship I've used so far. @jrandall what ship would you recommend from your library that is the next step up from this? Looking to upgrade soon

Thank you japp_02 and Ramar! @Ramar, I just brought it into RE. It comes in at 352,545 CPU with stock CPU tier blocks giving it 400,000 CPU. You can add a T1 shield without any CPU blocks and be a touch over at 402,545 CPU. Also, it comes with a standard 30 LY warp drive. I hope that helps, and thanks again!

Will this work in Reforged Eden as it is?

The Pioneer is so remarquable as for short walking to reach all necessary stations, yet the interiors are spacious and beautifully designed, my warmest congrats for this jewel :)

@Garm If you divide the downthrust of any blueprint by 10 (technically 9.8), that will indicate the maximum g force the thrusters can overcome, empty.

Just a query though; can this handle 4G planets?

LOL I thought the detector was new. BTW I had spawned it in Reforged (Creative) Scenario and ship is still good to go! (CPU wise). As you may know Reforged Galaxy made significant gameplay changes and many base game designed ships are not directly compatible (without modification) This one is!
