I managed to overcome my fear of poisons in 30 minutes after the normal ones, 2 hours after poison fast ones.

The poison ones are especially frightening for me, because they can reduce your health to like five in one bite for a short while.
I've recently been playing Black Mesa though, so I haven't had to run into the poison or fast mutations luckily.

Also, 2 months ago when I made that comment I was scared of headcrabs.
Yesterday I now no longer fear them. I crowbarred one, slowly got enough courage to kill a poison, and then fast. I can play Half Life in peace.
