goated mod wish someone figured out how to resolve the crashing that happens when you have too many guns

There is definitely a crash as soon as i get the templar class with my mod list. I had to turn this off as soon as i got the templar class unlocked as editing their inventory crashed. Removing this mod fixed the crashes.

Crashes after getting to Coil tier in Lwotc, would really love the update to not crash after reaching certain weapon selection limit

I LOVE AND WANT THIS MOD SO BAD, But it causes crashes for my modlist. So much that I'll just deal with the jank and clutter for stability. I run LWOTC/MJ+RPGO. Something clashes but it runs fine without this mod enabled. Sucks because it's an awesome mod I almost require.

Sorry, it had nothing to do with this mod.
It actually the Primary Secondary mod that define wrong LWOTC Shinobi class name.

My Shinobi class don't have Melee weapon category for his primary weapon. But it worked when he was Rookie. Any tip?

I'm sad to report that i'm experiencing crashes now to. The screen will freeze up, and will ctd when pressing any inputs.

The minor change I have from other reporters is that I barely have any weapon mods, mostly voice and QoL.

I don't recognize the consistency of crashes of other uses, except it seems to crash much more when editing the fifth soldier slot (utter right). I've had different classes there and this is a careful observation. Might also be related to customized classes etc, I do have those.

At any rate, I've not found a sound way to circumvent the crash myself, I've sometimes just kept trying and got through (saving the game when I was done with editing my squad except the fifth slot, then upon crashing loading that save, only having to adjust sloth five, and thats the way I got through to the mission most of times)

Hope the author can do something about this in the future! (even if you see this months or years later Musashi)

in first i got no issue using this but in the late game where u have a lot of weapon,this mod alway cause my game to crash

@Claxeius The swords show but the mod might need the right class to equip as primary, Samurai or Marauder work but you need to download those mods.

Okay so good news, I can confirm that in order to get around the CTD in the loadout, I had to cut down on the amount of weapons certain characters can equip.

This information was found in the config files for a mod, specifically:
XcomClassData.ini

So, I think there's some weight to my theory that this mod can only handle so much indexing before it freezes and causes a crash. The way to resolve is to cut down on the amount of items it needs to list,

This mod will likely CTD eventually if you have too many weapon mods and/or mods that lift the weapon restrictions to allow anyone to equip anything. This is also just a temporary measure, because eventually all those tiers of weapons will stack up and clog the system to the point where even regular soldiers can cause the CTD.

The only way I can think of to get rid of it is to auto-hide the previous weapon tiers when you upgrade.

I can also add my report to the list, this mod is very essential to my playthrough, but it does seem like it crashes when it has to display a ton of weapons from several mods (the CoD weapon mod packs in particular) in a character's loadout.

Though in my case, it only triggered on characters with their own unique class. Supersoldiers, Torque, and Viper King.

Oddly, it didn't trigger on Doom Slayer, Reapers, Templars, or Skirmishers. And I suspect... the reason is because they have a limited amount of weapon categories. So... perhaps in theory, if one were to decrease the weapon categories assigned to them, then perhaps it won't CTD.

The alternative is to just play with fewer weapon mods.

.......so obviously, I'm going to try the harder option.

My game crashed every time whenever I change the loadout of a freshly recruited templar. Traced the crash to this mod. It was a pain, but this mod was the reason for the crash every damn time.This was a good mod though.

This mod equips soldiers with multiple weapons, caused by you changing something, it keeps the original on and adds the newly equipped item on top. So, in tactical, the result is multiple "shoot", "overwatch", "reload", etc icons. Same with armor and ever other equipped item. Took me a while to figure out this was the culprit .What a bummer, I liked this mod

Can confirm. Crashed to me instantly after checking it out. Only have Black Ops III weapon mod installed and some additional classes. Sad, because this problem with constantly scrolling to find the right gun for my soldier goddamn sucks and this mod was exactly what I needed :(
Especially when the 1st tier weapons somehow appear on the top of the list.

So I can also confirm that changing weapons crashes the game. However, after some investigating I can confirm that this will ONLY happen when there are too many weapons the game has to index.

My game did run fine until I hit plasma tier weaponry. So I started to remove some of my weapon mods until I had no issue loading the weapon menu again.

Probably this mod generate/duplicate copies of pistol models (in list of pistols).

happens to me only for selected FIXR soldiers when trying to change the primary, but with over 1100 mods and only a few soldiers affected I can live with it

Just posting to also confirm that i have isolated this mod as the cause of a crash to desktop. It is random but only starts after I reach tier 2 weapons and beyond. For me it always happens when I am in the loadout screen and am attempting to change out a weapon.

Has not happened when swapping utility or armor items... only main weapon.

I REALLY enjoy the QoL this mod brings but have uninstalled until their is a fix. :(

Working for me so far. I have 252 mods. The biggest ones being ABA, ABM, LW perks and classes. And i have REsistance weapons, cod black ops weapons, resident eveil 7 weapons, Half life 2 weps i have many many things. and no crash yet

Ok strange issue im using this with halo weapon melody which adds some weapons from halo all of the work fine excluding the dmr I doesn't show up in the list under any category

Are there any other mods like this one?

Just to clarify, Musashi has taken a hiatus from modding and until he returns there will be no update for any of his mods. This mod seems to work with RPGO without issue, but there are problems with other class mods including Proficiency Classes. If you have trouble just disable it and check back every once in a while to see if Musashi is active again.

Can confirm, mod crashes often. In my case it's almost 100% on Templar loadout window. So far I don't even have that many items..

It definitely would be nice if they could update this mod to fix the issues it has and prevent it from crashing

Really wish this mod was actively updated, it has so much promise and genuinely makes my life easier but I don't want to risk a crash every time I try to change a soldier's loadout. It's almost completely random, there's no way to avoid it

The funniest thing is that I've never had this CTD with my 400-mod campaign, and indeed, switching back to the heavy modlist the CTD does't happen anymore (though the category filter bug is still present).

It's the darniest thing! Hopefully this will help you investigate the CTD and fix it; it has't affected me personally, but it seems other peoplem suffered from it.

I found a simple and reproductable way to happen upon a CTD when using ONLY this mod (not even highlander or anything else), 100% of the time:

1- .ini purge.
2- Launch WOTC through AML with only this mod on.
3- Quit to desktop and launch it again (.ini rebuild now complete).
4- Set graphics settings to Minimal.
5- Start new campaign: legendary, ironman, no beg VO, no L&A, no Integrated DLC but both DLC active.
6- On gatevrasher, ToggleGodMode, KilLAllAliensExceptClosestToCursor, plant C4, and kill last alien with a rookie.
7- On avenger, promote units until you get a ranger.
8- Go to armory, selecgt the ranger, loadout, click on their shotgun (default primary weapon).

Bam, CTD 3 out of 3 times so far.

So I wanted to report a pretty long-standing with this where you can never see all weapon/item categories at once, as unselecting a category filter (rifle, shotgun, etc.) will still show only items for that category, instead of items of every category (compatible with the slot, of course).

This is not the expected behaviour seen in your demonstration video.

To do that, I started by first seeing if it happened only with this mod or it was any other mod'sm presence that triggered it, and boy oh boy...

Agreed with Juliet Taylor Briar and others, mod needs a fix stat, because all it takes is reaching one new tech level for this mod to CTD war of the chosen when you try selecting a primary weapon, especially for modded classes like Cyborg, Spartan II and others that give you access to a lot of primary weapons.

Though part of me wonders if its the weapon preview that's causing a lot of the crashes, because the game freeze's temporarily when trying to display a weapon.

A very nice mod, but I'm not so fond of the fact that named weapons always show the original name in the list instead of the one I gave it.

Means I have to scroll through all the weapons to find the correct one instead of being able to see it at a glance.

Been wondering why I've been crashing so much and having game stuck on freeze screens every time I tried to mess with soldier loadouts. Turns out this was the problem. Mod was great and categorized stuff amazingly but it just doesn't work anymore.

Ok found the Problem just had to Start a new Game now i get the sort options for everything i modded to be Primary weapons.

now my Question i encountered a problem. I use Primary Secondaries and want to use Combat Knives as a Primary Weapon. Withou this mod i can use them but with this mod enabled i cant find it in any Category. is there a way i dont seem to find or do i have to do something to activate it?

This mod really needs a fix. It's the only convenient way to play with additional weapons added by mods, but it's crashing my game constantly. I'm guessing it's the only mod of its kind as well.

We all gonna have to wait till he gets back sadly but once he gets back im sure hell be busy to get things rolling again.
