also, you should look into trying to do an articulated boiler locomotive (one where the boiler bends)

Not that I'm suggesting that this would work in reality - the Triplexes that were actually built were terrible and barely had enough steam to operate, and the Santa Fe mallet classes 1158 and 3300 that used flexible boilers were pretty miserable too. So basically this whole proposal relies on a bunch of ideas that just never really worked in the real world.

But also it's just meant to be a bit of outlandish fun. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It is a cool engine, my only "issue" really is there's no hinge/coupling in middle of it, how would it get around bends? Do the wheels turn? It looks too long for the tracks esp on bends, but it's a nice engine and I always have at least 1 running in my games.

Oh, I also noticed the rod animations and wheels were out of sync, so that's been fixed too.

UPDATE: Updated with working lights (thanks for the idea @n.chiri), doubled the lifespan to 20 years, and added soem extra functionality to placeable asset placement.

I'm not sure if you still care about this crazy thing, but I've been doing some changes that you might find interesting. I added front and rear headlights, taillights for the loco and canteen, removed the colorable blue line (I don't like it; I prefer a very black look for freight locos like this) and restored the whistle from the TFP1 version, along with its original 40 year lifespan. With all these changes is easily one of my favourite steamers.

There are plenty of early engines that would be great on the 50km freight runs found on megalomaniac maps
