From what I - so, not the maker of this mod - to show a eyepatch would be a nightmare and ugly as hell. Heroes swaps between idle, walking and combat stances, each with their own different animations. So you wouldn't be able synchronize the movement of the patch with the head for each of these stances, resulting in a badly situated animation for 2 out of 3 cases.
Not quite along the theme of mods that I normally download, but if this is what I think it is it deserves being in my load order just for sheer innovation's sake.
Plus I imagine it's quite the boon to morale to have a little supper chopper overhead.
