I mean...yeah, i know how you can do that thing and most of the time you don't hit the vertex or material limit so everything is working fine. Most of the time. But when you hit the limits fixing them become nightmare.

i mean i've done skins with pbr it's a bit messy but completely possible

No, he doesn't. You can't do skins/bodygroups with PBR. Well you can, but they won't work properly. So they only solution is create separate model for the skin. In this case i need to do 12 additional models just to add faces.
