I know it's old, but the modeling on the hat (especially the little dent you can see in the thumbnail) looks like it's made out of rubber, like it almost looks like an inflatable toy hat. Also, does the inside of the furnace glow? That would be a very cool touch if you decide to remake this.

The pipes are kinda similiar but that's where the things in common ends. It's pretty different. And no, it doesn't have the smoke particle because Valve themselves adds it.

On that note, both hats really don't even remotely look similar. In fact, I think this one's more unique in design, and I really like it!

Does this hat come with the "Genteel Smoke" ambient particle effect rising from the pipe (like the one on the Soldier's Stogie cigar)?

The game already contains the all-class Full Head of Steam tophat achieveement item with the exact same theme. I doubt this has a chance to get accepted by Valve.
It's does look a bit different from the FHoS and has an actual chamber to put the coal in, but it also looks clunkier.
