Thank you! Our conversation has lead me to finding the files in question. To my surprise, my dedicated server is storing some GMA files outside the Garry's Mod folder entirely.

Most dedicated server addons were found here: \garrysmod\cache\srcds\
Many other dedicated server addons were found here: \steam_cache\content\4000\

I was able to start a dedicated server using workshop mounting and had snail in the command line as the gamemode I was also able to use ulx to switch from ttt to snail. If its in a collection being used by the server when the server boots you should see an echo in the console telling you whats being mounted from the workshop. I'm not sure where the server puts the gma file itself but the file structure inside of the gma mounts the content in gamemodes/snail/

The gamemode works well, just a matter of finding it. For example, if I load it up from clientside or server side, I don't see any deathsnail game mode here: \garrysmod\gamemodes\ nor any deathsnail addons here: \garrysmod\addons\

The gamemode is actually just called snail in the file system using that should load the server into the gamemode.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, my server is up and running happily. I've found some subscriptions added to the collection load and work fine in-game, but aren't presented as GMA files in this folder:

\garrysmod\cache\srcds\

My server manager allows you to load maps and game mods once they're extracted from GMA and placed in respective folders, but many maps don't present as GMA files in that folder, and so they can't be extracted. I could always edit the startup parameters to boot to deathsnail game mode, but I'm unable to find it.

This mod doesn't seem to load in to a GMA file on my dedicated server; I'd like to extract it and toss it direct into gamemodes for loading in my server manager. Do you know how the mod is organized or where it exists in the file structure? Thanks!

@St_Angerous The gamemode does it automatically. The player model selector overrides the gamemode though. Go into the setting for the playermodel selector and disable it while playing.

Is there a way to make it force the snail model onto the player who is the snail? We keep having to change our player models every time

@TitaniumSpyBorgBear as someone that's made mods/maps for years, jacking other people work is never in my playbook as I get upset when it happens to me. I figured using the resource.AddWorkshop function would be okay since I was unable to add you on steam to ask your direct permission.

What would be a lot of fun is if the snail could climb walls and possibly even ceilings. Like, it could climb above someone then let go and dive bomb a prey.

Rather love the death snail mechanic. Though, giving the snail an extra jump might also help. I have noticed players can get to places that are hard for the snail to.

The snail is a player. It is the murder gamemode but the murderer plays as the snail for the round.

can you add a video? is the snail a player? how does it work? it needs nodes or navmesh if its an snpc i assume?
