I will be discontinuing this mod. I suggest Geological Landforms by m00nl1ght as a much better map generation mod than mine.

@Snoob islands work like that as there is no land border for them to walk in, drop pods are the only way for raids to arrive

vv it could also be a mod conflict on my end. But if anyone else is having an issue with only drop pod raids spawning, maybe we have some mods in common causing the conflict?

Seems to be only sending drop pod raids against an archipelago base. Even on day one, where its sending literally one dude with a knife in a DROP POD! how does he afford a giant metal space parachute but cant even bring a gun?! I checked the log and it said that because a raid method couldn't be generated, it falls back to using drop pods. :missing:

Hi @Jaxe, after a recent update, I think, mod "Map Reroll" is no longer able to generate proper previews for the Coastal maps. For all the other tiles previews are quite accurate, but for coastal maps land-to-water ratio, as well as percentage of water on map is sometimes dramatically different from what is in the preview. Could you, please, look into that maybe? Thanks!

The mod seems to be not working. When I load a new world the error log tried to come up but shows only the background. I removed the mod and it works fine.

It was working Yesterday (before the update to 1.3) but not anymore :x
The settings can't be accessed and when you pick a coastal location on the map, you can't even open the Advanced options (and you don't see if it's a peninsula or a coast)

@allen.w.225 ya raids show up in drop pods just super rare, and almost allways from the outlanders as the tribals don't seem to have drop pods :steamfacepalm:

If you get a quest that has people appear on your map and you're on a island, they spawn on the edges of the map in deep water and get stuck.

Also, can drop pod raids spawn on islands?

You can be raided and new animals can spawn if you mine the mountain tiles closest to the coast to the end of the map. The mountain tiles that are facing the coast near the edges of the map can be mined, so long as there is no roof (mountain or thin roof etc.). So basically, mine along the countours of the mountain until you reach the edge, this would create a path for raiders and animals to spawn and move into the map.

I have a question about peninsula's. If three sides are covered in ocean and the fourth side is a mountain, is it possible to "open up the map" by mining away parts of the mountain until there is land bordering one of the map edges? So for my current colonies map, the mountain range covers the entire north of the map, up to about 1/4 or so of the map. It stretches across the entire north part, however, ocean is on the other three sides, up to where the mountain begins. If I dig a tunnel so that there are passable tiles which border one of the edges of the map, say the northern edge, will this allow my pawns to leave the map? Will animals be able to enter the map via this opened path? Likewise, will raids be able to spawn at this point?

I agree with @Nada , just add some sliders in your menu to change the generated shape. Use like a geometric shape as the base of your noise map to make the shape then allow us to change the shape in the menu. Should allow for some cooler options.

You need a single tile (like, one hex surrounded by water) to have an island. A regular coast won't work.

How do you get one to spawn? I have set the thing for 98% with 2% pennensula, cause I wanan build and Island thing.. but I've just not been able to get any to spawn. How can you make it spawn?

Getting, not bugs really, but trader and raider spawns that spawn on the edges of the water and walk in (and drown), rather than spawning on the landward side. Breaks the balance. Additionally, animals appear to spawn sometimes in from the edges of the map (if you are built near the edge), with wild animals spawning inside my walls regularly.
