They should make it so the side special isn`t a instant kill Its unfair

Also they should make it so the lower the enemy is the easier it is to escape.

I hope this gets updated with balancing and definitive edition sprite updates along with maybe some alternate color palettes.

It's concept is really interesting but some of the attacks are way too over powered, another thing is maybe having a portal icon right by the characters hud like Wrastor's tornado

i really love this character concept. although, maybe do something about side special, like make it kill at 100+ percent. when i do it on the ai, they just sorta die, at any percent.

I love the concept of this character, but I'm not a fan of a few things. Namely, how slow the Nspecial and Dspecial are, and the entire Fspecial itself. I feel like the Fspecial would work better as a simple command grab that grabs the enemy, damages them, and spits them out above you, none of this "mash to escape digestion" stuff.

I like the character but i feel that the blur is really ugly and i feel a transformation sprite simular to double should be used instead of a blur

The character is so cool but none of the specials seem to work correctly for me. Up-Special has no audio, N-Special lasts forever, D-Special does nothing at all, and the CPU doesn't know what to do about Side-Special and dies everytime. :steamfacepalm:

NSpec is exceedingly slow, both in windup and after a successful attack. It feels a bit gross and sluggish to use. And for 20% damage, I feel that there are better NSpecial moves to put here. Yes, I understand that you wanted Clairen representation here, but the grab feels like it actively disrupts the flow of this character's moveset.

SSpec is likewise sluggish to use, and I'm not entirely sure about the instakill function. It grinds the game to a halt, which I feel is counterintuitive to the more kinetic movement-based gameplay of RoA.

Other than these three moves (and possibly the lack of any real projectiles), this character is a blast! I look forward to see where this character goes.

This is an awesome idea for a character, and it fits in with what we know about the abyss shadows and the gatekeeper so far! I love how this character morphs and uses the best moves from the entire normal cast; it's awesome! There are a couple of things, though.

DSpec should have some sort of visual feedback when there are no portals. When I first attempted to use it, I had no idea that I was simply not set up; even after I learned how to use it, I get this twinge of confusion, as if the move simply wasn't coded in. Some visual feedback would do wonders for helping someone understand that the conditions of the attack were not met. Additionally, I think the large orb attack should have a way to better control where it lands.

A very nice character. Double is my main on Skullgirls so I am definitely hooked! Though, I did notice that if you grab Forsburn's clone with the FSpecial, Forsburn still takes damage.

i sort of feel stupid now. I figured it out.

if you're wondering, @anyone just go load up RoA [rivals of aether] and then navigate down to extras, and then steam workshop. select your file, after you inserted it to the game files, and publish it.

For the sprites you have two options
1) Download the rivals modding tool that allows you to rip all sprites in the game (in the form of very big and unorganized images)
OR
2) Subscribe to DinoBros's "The dark" buddy. Paint the images in a color that's not black (so you can erase without removing the character outline). Enter the practice mode with your desired character and start snipping the image frame by frame.

The second one sounds worse but was actually faster for me on many occasions.

To get the moveset:
Go into AppData\Local\RivalsofAether\dev_mode\dev_ver_0.6\active
In there you can find files containing all the values you need for each character. Both window and hitbox values (Some values can be wrong, but it's a very small amount and easily fixable)

@clod Well the reason for dtilt being orcane's is that jab->dtilt is (or was afaik) a very common follow up that I wanted to keep. But I guess sylv's could work too

@webking321 The only characters not present are Sylvanos, Elliana, Ori and SK.
The reason for Ori and SK not being there is because they're guest characters so I don't think they should be included.
For Sylv and Elli there was just not a single move I could associate with them that was strong/unique/staple enough to be included. At least IMO

oh also instead of having 1 big midair jump you should do a couple small jump mid air jumps cause wrastor
