It's all good don't worry. But if you want a horde only version of the mod you've linked, you should probably ask the person who made that. Also there is a l4d2 only version of my mod, if the l4d1 music in this one's not your thing.

Look, by all means it's a cool mod, but why would I copy paste a part of it in mine, when you can just subscribe to their mod ?

I'd argue those music give more of a horror/despair kind of feel but hey, agree to disagree I guess.
Can't argue that this mod's not my best by far, sound design's an actual skil set and all that.

can accept the loop thing, but i dont think the credits and mines soundtrack fit for a moment where there's a horde and you're fighting for your life

I understand the idea, but you seem to think I chose this duration for some obscure reason. I did not.
I don't have the coding skills to make a mod that changes the music system (I don't even know if that's possible) so all I can do is replace tracks and make do with how the game works.
The game only accepts very specific file duration and anything different, by even a tenth of a second will cause problems.
And there's a l4d2 only mod if you'd prefer.

This mod has the potential to be awesome! Really good tracks in theory, but definitely doesn't work well with l4d1 campaigns. As well as what had been mentioned in a previous comment, the track loop timings. Horde music is supposed to be continuous, however this loops so quick, It changes way too fast. Definitely good in theory and wish it worked out.

hello, i love the idea of this mod and did a great job, however i think the loops are way too short, its like 10 seconds of every track, i can barely enjoy it because of how short it is, maybe making the loops at least 20 seconds longer would make it near perfect.

Dumb question, but your are sure you don't have any other mods that replace horde music, or a bunch of musics that could include horde-adjacent musics ? (like the terror theme for the commons ?)

Hey, this mod plays random sounds in my ear. Not the high pitched shrieks of pain but random high pitched (chipmunk even) sounds from the charger, spitter added with random sound effects. If there is any way I can show you why or how, please tell me.

@Box-Chan I mean if you want to rework this mod and make your own version go for it, but yeah those musics are pretty tough to work with. There's some great music that just doesn't fit in a very specificaly timed short loop.
Through, maybe you should try making the loop directly the gitar riff itself rather than leading up to it ? Or pick a specific part of the guitar riff that works in a loop ?
The horde system works by looping the different drums somewhat randomly (I think some follow each other, like 01b, 01c, and so on, but I'm not 100% sure). Also you need to be prepared for the one music to be looped several times in a row. If it doesn't sound nice then, it might be a pain to listen to.
What I did for some of the musics was to make loops that work on their own but also follow each other up. Still, that's 3 loops of around 5 seconds I think ?

I was gonna offer to make a version with the in game mix of IED, but looking in the addon files it sounds like it doesn't even make it to the main guitar riff where the difference is, so I don't know if its fully necessary anymore

Didn't mean to come off as harsh or a killjoy, it's just that with all the work it took to have this mod sort of work, I don't see myself changing anything now (save for bugfixing, if I find a way to get rid of the screeching for good)

@Box-Chan Hey, sorry, but I don't think I will. I spent a looot of time on this mod already (without really managing to remove the bugs).
I get it, there's a lot of cool stuff in this ost the could be in the mod in theory, but in practice the music needs to be a very short and specific duration and can be played before or after pretty much anything (save a couple of rare exeptions).

I personally like this, both 1 and 2's music being modded to it. It makes it sound more like a fight than how the music normally would sound.

can you make a separate mod so this only changes l4d2 music? This mod is really good, but all l4d1 campaigns just fall flat so hard with this, it don't fit and just makes my ears bleed.

@Mr Heisenberg Cat Can't do, l4d1 have a very restricted set of musics, and all musics are very short loops. That also play during the passing finale, overlapping the l4d2 sounds.
There's just not as many tracks to work with, so I had to make choices.

Can you add more songs to l4d1?

Finally found best horde music as sadly KF1/KF2 horde music I had before was removed for no reason. I REGRET NOTHING!

@Cayeetus nah you're not, it's an infected noise that comes from a bug I can't fix. I thought it was because of the lengh of the clips but I fixed them all and it's still there, so I have no idea what to do about it.
If you can pinpoint the music, maybe I can double check it ? I've been struggling with this bug for so damn long ; _ ; )

Though i'm not the biggest fan of Postal 1/Redux, the OST in that game is amazing. The heavy grunge and rock really get the blood pumping.
Glad to see it being ported over, even if it does have some occasional issues.

@»MIDGARD⚔GAMES« Do you have a specific part of the game in mind ? (l4d1 maps, l4d2 maps, passing ?)
In most cases, the tracks are names in a way that makes the order somewhat obvious ( drums + number + letter, giving for example drums03a, followed by drums03b, drums03c, and so on)
But other than that order, the tracks are chosen at random, and sometimes the order of letters and numbers isn't respected by the game, so each track needs to work well on it's own.

What order did you follow to put the songs that way?
