@HSA they are real. In the soviet bloc they are still in operation and mostly used for moving trolleybus parts around (they usually have a small battery aswell for limited operation without wires). There are more examples on wikipedia [en.wikipedia.org] .

very interesting idea. i dont use the electricity/fuel option for my maps, however this is quite the looker to give some flair to your citys
