Nothing you wrote is historically accurate. Marx wasn’t “Satanic,” he was a materialist. That myth comes from a 1950s American evangelical pamphlet, not scholarship. His actual writing on religion describes it as the “sigh of the oppressed creature,” not as something to attack. Marxism opposes political clerical power, not individual faith.
Communist states didn’t persecute religion because of Marx, but because churches in the early USSR were political institutions tied to monarchists, landowners, and foreign intelligence... not because people prayed on Sunday.
China, Vietnam, and Cuba all have thriving religious communities today, which already disproves your claim that “communist nations murder religious people.”
And the gossip about Marx and his maid is an unproven Victorian-era rumor used by anti-communists for over a century.
Chuds usually rely on mythology, however.
Marx wanted the over throw of the "existing social and political" structures, structures that were built upon religion, in this case, Western Christianity. Marx got what he wanted, because every Communist nation to ever exist, in large or small, murdered, censored or imprisoned religious people within their borders.
"In short, the Communists everywhere support every revolutionary movement against the existing social and political order of things.
In all these movements, they bring to the front, as the leading question in each, the property question, no matter what its degree of development at the time.
Finally, they labour everywhere for the union and agreement of the democratic parties of all countries.
The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win."
God bless you all.
I can understand why the devs did not want players building churches, but then why include religion as a mechanic? Yes, I understand the primary option is to demolish churches and suppress religious needs by removing the idea from the new generations, but I much prefer the idea of building churches that are loyal to the socialist state and aid in the spreading of progaganda. Soft supression instead of hard supression.
Many young fellows have a romanticized view of Marxism, because they fail to understand that it becomes a tool for a few people to control all media outlets, the education of your children, your jobs, etc. This is why where Marxism is applied people flee (like a friend of mine who was shot with ak47 when the coastguards find him escaping in a boat. The list goes on forever, but I needed to say this, for the memory of all that have died and suffer the injustice of such an evil ideology.
Religion was not suppressed much esp. during Stalin, just check the constitution. If it was what are the laws suppressing it? Anti-Soviet propaganda and actions were indeed suppressed, and there were different points: propaganda using religios prejudicies, propaganda using national prejudicies and others. So were the nations suppressed too then? No )) And somehow churches survived, moreover, priests and others were printed in papers, religious characters were shown in films widely and not in a negative way.
So anyways, who's up for our Christian Socialism?
Have you got any synagogues, mosques and Buddhist temples?
