After having an escort I'd been carefully leading just be randomly oneshot by a corruptor rare's cone attack from out of nowhere, I broke down and installed this mod

Updated for version 1.7.4.

It should once again be compatible with other escort mods, tested with "Select your Escorts" & "Escort Enhanced".
