Pretty fun character, I'd suggest making the transformation shorter though, full evolution gauge is basically a win button right now

true, it doesn't make guilmon bad, but it definitely seems more viable to be the invincible version of the character than the not invincible version. that armor needs to be toned down

@Jakuzi I really wouldn't start calling Guilmon bad just because one person decided to camp as a way to gain meter because I disagree with that part of what you said for sure.

gallantmon's armor is absolutely fucking broken, it lasts way way way too long for something that seems to give complete armor
in contrast guilmon is so bad that the last person I played against spent the match hiding from me to power up their matrix just so they could be the busted side of this character
it's really weird

I don't really know...Never been a competitive player myself and I don't know what exactly he would need to be tournament legal, but if it would be drastic nerfs then I definitely wouldn't want this main version to be lost since being the way he is now is part of the fun in my opinion.

@Fleur Sorry for the late answer, but anyways it depends on which yellow skin you mean, because even in the earlier Workshop days some of the skin slots caused errors like that for no reason and as far as I know that's not something related to the character itself and rather just a general RoA thing. Unless that thing was patched up and I just don't know about it.

@Big Wom The base sprites are on Spriters Resource or Sprite Database actually, but I did make a lot of new attacks for both Guilmon and especially Gallantmon.

@DLshadows I'll keep these in mind whenever I get back to RoA properly and will patch him up before moving on to my next mod. I can see why the up and back aerial would prove to be lackluster comped to the others, but tbh I got some decent use for them for the most part. Especially when chained into the down tilt or the up tilt, but either ways I'll look into it. Gallantmon's up special is actually based off of Rumble Arena where it was a one hit move too. The feeling that it might be a multihit most likely comes from the fact that he spins around. Yet again I'll look into it and maybe change it around. The flames are really simple, I just added their colour to a new slot in the palette file itself and modified them like you would normally do with everything else.

Ok so after playing around with him i gotta say he's pretty dang good already, there's just a few moves i feel could be improved. Uair and bair are both lack luster compared to how great nair and fair are, so maybe an increase on %/knock back or size. Side special is good but the slow start up makes it easier to react to so maybe a slightly faster start up and last one is Gallantmon's up special, it just feels like it should be a multi hit move that drags them up like Wrastor's but that one might just be me. And one final thing, how did you get the flames colored with each alt? They just won't work nicely with Renamon, but maaaybe with your help :3

@Jokaes There are two ways to do it, but both of them boil down to filling up his meter:
-You can charge it with the down special, which is faster, but you need to stay in one place while using it.
-Or you can string your attacks together and if the attacks hit the opponent it will fill the meter too, but slower than the down special.
After it is finished (which is indicated with the "Matrix Evolution" text appearing) just press the down special and you should be able to evolve.

@Graham I actually did consider the idea of making him since then we would have the 4 main Digimon from Digimon World 4, but first off he would need a bunch of new sprites being made since he barely has anything aside from a few Guilmon sprite edits. But even then I'll definitely do more Digimon stuff.

@Hibou Nah. No worries about that. The reason his progress is slower is due to me having different projects in the making in the mean time too. Namely SSF2, Crusade mods as well as a MUGEN character.

@Hibou Inquiet Sorry for not answering a bit sooner, but as if right now Guilmon's Gallantmon evolution gimmick is always fully implemented. The only thing that remains is implementing a timer to it so it won't last forever (or rather until he doesn't lose a stock) as well as a devolution animation for that once I manage to add it in properly.

@guilmon333 Based on feedback his Smash Attacks were toned down, because they were too strong (especially the Forward one) and same goes for the Forward Aerial so right now considering other replies on Discord they should be fine and making them more weaker would be an unnecessary nerf in my opinion.

@Jesus Fetus I'm just being accurate to the source material and it would look weird if the attacks with obvious flame effects wouldn't cause burning.

I'll be honest, it's kinda silly how many of his attacks cause burning. Maybe tone it down just a notch or three.

@RagingBagon Maybe it's just me, but I could find uses of the dash attack a lot, (Mainly as a tech punishing move.) but I'll see what I can do with it in the next patch with Gallantmon. As for the up smash, yeah it's pretty situational and slow, but it can kill very early on and if it's timed right it can also serve as a combo finisher. Either ways I'll look into that too, but if I increase it's speed a bit then I most likely will nerf it's power a bit too.

Really cool character, been enjoying him a whole lot. Only thing i don't really like about it is that his up smash and dash attack are really slow and not useful compared to the rest of his moveset, other than that really great and fun character
