I can say this. Fighting against Japan is really freaking fun now..

you did lower the samurai's combat strengt right? because otherwise this is quite an OP mod.

It was set to steel because samurai didn't exist until the late rennaisance-early industrial revolution...
MasterTosser 2013 年 10 月 2 日 上午 4:14
it actually makes sense, cuz samaurai swod are not exactly steel... tyere an alloy of iron and tungsten, which is steel, but its relatively small percentage of tungsten

@Col. Hathi It was a request from someone on Reddit, it makes Samurai a more viable unit for longer as usually it gets outclassed really quickly by firearms. From a tech stand point Steel makes more sense as Katana's are steel.
Cryptographer  [作者] 2013 年 10 月 1 日 下午 8:20
@Law Indeed, though technically steel does make more sense from a weapon stand point.

I like this mod. It makes more historical sense, as the Samurai were likely much better armed than the regular swordsman.

What's the reasoning behind this? I'm asking because I want to know if this is just to get an unfair edge early on, or if there's some merit behind it.

seems good
