Hy @Emiricol4Rl. May I ask why you would like to have that piece seperately? I don't see any significant performance boost you would get from it, seeing that if you use the "Loading Screen" mod it already reduces the ram usage, since they both use the same texture.
As for an attack vector... Expert Opinion: extremely unlikely.
Not as far as I know. The download contains 4 assets = 4 individual files. The game reads each file and turns them into game objects. That's the standard way the game works. there is no unpacking/file generating going on in my case (tho there are mods that do have the abilty to do that)
As for "could any file uploaded to the workshop contain any malicious code?", only Valve or Paradox Entertainment could answer that. Nobody really knows most people are guessing:

I think there are countermeasures to detect and prevent such thing from happening. But even if it would be possible to upload a code like that, according to my knowladge it wouldn't affect the computer. You can't create a code that will run outside of the game's code, and the game has limitation's put on it by the system which can't be altered from inside.
My next question is: Could a malicious file be stored inside such a file structure and when it gets created upon activation in the Game's Content Manager the malicious file could be putting their game and even their PC at risk?
It's in the description, it's a pack of assets. Nothing more nothing less. 2 network, 2 ferry stations.
Given the mixed type of the assets, it might make sense to put it into the "Mod" category, but since it doesn't modify any game code, I think it's okay if it just stays in "Transport Ship"
Also I don't think you can change a workshop item's catergory anyway.
