It is too old, and it's program code became complex much....
Or, I would re-make the mod from zero.

Consuming players sanity, It attacks enemies.
- killed Pigman and Bunnyman turns into a friendly ghost.
- killed middle size creature turns into a friendly shadow monster.
Killing creatures, the book charges power.
Consuming 100% power, It summons a friendly shadow stalker.

The Necronomicon, also referred to as the Book of the Dead, or under a purported original Arabic title of Kitab al-Azif, is a fictional grimoire.
A fictional book of arcane and forbidden knowledge whose contents can drive a person mad.
Might fit in better theme wise including the "lord of the world" trait you can get. Since you feed the book with food and kills (by the player).
It allows this adventure book to be placed in the backpack slot... which got me thinking this is a pretty cool interaction for the Player Choice.
Extra item room or a Trophy Hunting (Enemy Skill) ability!!! Risk vs Rewards :)
Would like to point out that your tab and inventory icon background isn't transparent. (must of saved it wrong or painting program wasn't set correctly). Might want to fix that for Polish.
Now I have hard to maintain the mod.
