Thanks for the compliment. Two of my mods were incoporated by the developers and directly incorporated almost verbatim into the game when I wrote them. The shuttle reservation system and scanning tower information. That was an honor.

Your mods are fantastic! Some of them are so obvious that I don't know why they were not included in the game, or added later. I am quite new to the game and your mods have been really helpful. Thanks for sharing all of your hard work.

Shame the game wasn't designed in any sort of realistic way at all. :P Seems so clunky at times like modding it to do new stuff would be hard so people just use existing functions instead.

Not really. Think of the open farms as really large storage. Just like the indoor farms. Only drones can move things around.
I could make opens farms require workers, but you wouldnt see them picking crops.

Is there any way to enable colonists to harvest the crops themselves? Maybe have open farms have colonists assigned to them like other farm buildings, and then the colonists themselves can harvest instead. I like that idea a lot better than drones harvesting crops.

This is nice. I did find how to make vanilla Open Farms work (just park an RC commander in the middle and restrict its range to just the farm and surrounding storage, it's drones are forced to harvest) but its not perfect and limits where I can put storage. Nice that it'll just work.

well this game i had 40k food with just one farm. man the devs need to dial these things back!

That setting is for seed spreading. In other words as the arm goes around how often and how much seed should be distributed in the pass. The plots get seeded randomly and grow subsequently. Normal seems to do fewer than I thought would be better so I made aggressive and very aggressive.
Obviously you need the seeds to do it. The farm will stop operating when you run out of seeds.

which setting should i use normal or aggressive because i seem to always get 20k food with just one farm no matter what

hmm, sounds like I need to put in an option to allow you to slow it down, or alter the crops to take a bit longer. The original code from HG is put together to use the tree vegetation mechanics and really goes overboard when you turn openfarms into ... well ... farms, instead of 'other trees'.

Yeah they are amazing arent they. I'm trying to grow my colony to 3-4k just to use the food.
