nah, real pro's just make 2 plates, one for parachute prop and other for crate

With the physgun. I unfroze everything except the parachute, then spawned something (in this case a thruster) below it on the ground and created a constraint (eg. no collide) between the thruster and the crate, so then I unfroze the parachute and quickly duped the thruster which in term duped the whole thing and since Duplicator preserves frozen the frozen state upon paste, the package automatically drops.

@Warden It's the default HL2 supply crate found under the Items section, I just applied a different material to it. If you were talking referring to the red cross, that's made with E2 holograms.
