Is there any way to extend this mod to the custom made units?
jjj 24. juni 2020 kl. 11:54
so a helicopter has enough feul to last for 6000 years on the open ocean (with mods)
DonnernderVogel 27. maj 2020 kl. 5:25
This mod helps in a problem which Firaxis wasnot able to see in the last years. Its absolute nonsense that a flying unit has benefits from roads and has to embark at openwater or even lakes. But this mod only changes the apperiance of the embarked units, but they are still embarked.
A behaviour like the GDR, the ability to fight in/over water would be the best solution but this normally has (has not should) to come from Firaxis.

THIS MOD REQUIRES GATHERING STORM. When i installed Gathering Storm, i had a game already in progress in which an observation balloon was embarked in the middle of an ocean but upon loading that auto-save it was floating over the ocean instead. A few turns later, i upgraded it to a drone, which also flew over the ocean. Finally, i made a helicopter and flew it over the ocean too. All 3 units work as advertised as long as you have Gathering Storm installed but still embark as boats if you have only Rise & Fall.
Mundi ex Mentis 17. dec. 2019 kl. 15:56
I have Rise & Fall but not Gathering Storm and this mod doesn't work at least for balloons. I'm sure that i enabled it before starting the current game. I delayed my Dom Victory just long enough to build an observation balloon and fly it over water but it embarked & turned into boats instead of continuing to fly. I will take screenshots and post them on my profile until AOM asks me to remove them. My intent isn't to shame him but only to show the problem so that he'll fix it.
DingleBatz 12. nov. 2019 kl. 12:26
Shouldn't flying units not be penalized for embark/disembark?
Should they also not have issues with terrain.
It should be similar to the GDRs in this:
Has an advanced floating stabilization system allowing it to move through and fight on Coast and Ocean tiles as if they were land. The GDR doesn't lose Civ6Movement MPs to Embark or Disembark, and while in water retains its normal number of MPs (that is, it doesn't enjoy the boosts for Embarked units).

My game is fully patched and I have Gathering Storm. The mod works.
Ingolenuru 14. okt. 2019 kl. 22:42
Is there anyone using the mod now. Does it work without being updated?
telstar 6. okt. 2019 kl. 12:12
Compatible with september patch?
Mundi ex Mentis 24. aug. 2019 kl. 1:00
AOM, dstrelek brought up a very good point: flying units should be unaffected by cliffs blocking embarking since they can simply fly over cliffs! Melee/gunpowder units have a promotion in their tree that allows them to "scale cliff walls", so there should be a way to borrow the ability given by that promotion and assign it as a starting ability for balloons and drones at least. For helicopters, that might be slightly more tricky because light cavalry can be upgraded into them. I have already favorited & subscribed to this mod as-is, understanding that you intended it to only correct a graphics flaw, but i think a correction of cliffs blocking embarking- only for air units -would also be appreciated by many subscribers.
Asiagm 9. aug. 2019 kl. 14:36
not all the Helicopter, I want to the Apache of US can be on the water . and all the UAV can over water, not a boat. thanks! it include attacker. must be better unmanned attacked vehicle.
Sirisma™ 8. aug. 2019 kl. 13:49
Does this mod work by reassigning units with the appropriate promotion tag "Flying Unit" or whatever to not become boats or is it directly assigned to those 3 units? I'm curious on behalf of mod compatibility. The first would be ideal as it would force ANY flying unit to behave that way but I'm unsure.
dstrelek 27. juli 2019 kl. 10:32
Is there any way to get rid of the embarking limitation? (ie: enabling the flying units to embark over cliffs?)
AOM  [ophavsmand] 27. juli 2019 kl. 7:15
Hi Levallnou, yes it is.
Nizou 26. juli 2019 kl. 13:31
Is it compatible with June update ?
dstrelek 12. juli 2019 kl. 19:56
Sweet! Thanks for this. Choppers turning into boats annoyed the hell out of me.
sdgabai 30. juni 2019 kl. 11:58
I never noticed this bug before; but, I'm glad to have this mod. Thank you. I think my husband would have pulled his thinning hair out if he had to experience such an incredibly poor aesthetic design flaw when we started our air campaigns recently. lol
AOM  [ophavsmand] 30. juni 2019 kl. 10:14
Hi Palestine, none of the units must return to land for supplies, so I don't think it would be possible to add this to flying units.

Hi, Shruik, all the mod does is cause flying units to retain the appearance they have when flying over land even when they are flying over water. Without the mod, instead of appearing to fly, the flying unit turns into a boat.
Talley' 30. juni 2019 kl. 7:24
it is indeed a very welcomed mod
however it's sad that the fuel capacity of helicopters for instance, isn't shown as a number of turns until it has to go back to land or an airbase as in Civilization II, but this is asking a lot :')
Thanks!! Don't know why the devs did not make it this way in the first place
St. Astori 30. juni 2019 kl. 7:06
is this purely aesthetic or also functional?
Hyperion-c 26. juni 2019 kl. 7:08
Awesome! thank you for one of the most basic needed corrections to this game!

@o_siyeza @AOM We will add that function to Warfare Expanded.

Thank this heavenly man who made this.
Tactical Germie Shepie 1. juni 2019 kl. 12:17
does this work for asoiaf?
AOM  [ophavsmand] 30. maj 2019 kl. 19:24
@o_siyeza we can look at that this weekend. We also use Steel and Thunder and would like to have those units fly too.
o_siyeza 28. maj 2019 kl. 11:47
Support for steel and Thunder should be very easy, maybe we can help to add that.
KrumStrashni 28. maj 2019 kl. 7:02
@AOM can we have a chat about it? Are you in the Dsicord server for Civ or the Steam chat perhaps
AOM  [ophavsmand] 28. maj 2019 kl. 5:26
Hi KrumStrashni, this only affects the three units in the mod description. It was a change to their art definitions. Units added by mods are not affected.
KrumStrashni 27. maj 2019 kl. 23:28
Hey, would this affect also mods that add units like Warfare Expanded? Have you done that via unit classes or how?

THANK YOU, it always bothered me that a heli turned to a boat over the ocean.:steamhappy:
AOM  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2019 kl. 23:31
@lieutenant74, it shouldn't require GS. It does reference the drone from RaF, but I don't think that necessarily makes it require RaF either. That said, this is the first visual override we've done for this game, so if it is somehow requiring expansions that we own, let us know and we can try to fix it.
lieutenant74 25. maj 2019 kl. 23:23
is it only for G.S?
