Hi Icefox a question, how does sanity go up? I want to put it on Scripty so that when it rains sanity goes up but I'm not getting it, could you help me if you know?

Great character, model has outstanding quality! It's hard to be sane without proper stuff, but medkits and gun are doing well for start and later in game.

@BOOM BOX - That's simply not true. An egg counts as...an egg...in a crockpot. If it counted as meat, you could put 4 of either variety into the crockpot with the default game, and get either a meaty stew or at minimum meatballs. Both cooked and not cooked eggs by themselves give you wet goop as there no egg recipe that requires just eggs.

the Boiled Eggs is actually bad cause it would normally give you a meaty stew because eggs are a meat item

@yonk @Jutora That's not entirely unfair given the history of the character! *laugh* Amusingly enough, my character started in Star Fox originated as part of a cringy fan fic that for some reason had a following with older folks in my youth (go figure).

The character these days is in an original setting as I grew out of the fan fic stuff. Other than him being a fox and a fighter pilot, there's no similarities remaining from the fan fic days. Actually, the biggest "rip off" on him is that his flight suit is vaguely inspired by the new BSG, if you look very closely.

I haven't seen this level of furry hate since early 4chan. Is it me imagining things, or is the DST community that toxic?

@Rare I did agonize over balance quite a bit! I was actually worried he might be underpowered, actually. If you or anyone else has any suggestions on balance, let me know. I did make the Icekit, his chief advantage other than his speed, configurable up and down in power. I was tempted to make his speed configurable as well, but haven't bothered at this point.

@everyone Unfortunately due to a SNAFU which is entirely my fault a very late beta version got uploaded. That should be fixed by Monday. It adds the above config options and fixes a bug where Sanity is instant instead of regen. Stay tuned!

On that note, the upgraded guns are fully coded, functional and upgradable...it's just the lack of a gun animation...the blowdart animation flips the gun upsidedown and melee...well...you flail your arm about.

@DramaOji You're on-point in terms of design intent behind the character. The fact you get those impressions means I did an alright job fulfilling my goals here, so woo!

Definitely not a character for everyone, but for those looking for a challenge with a satisfying pay-off, he's decent. He's intended to be better late-game, once food is less of an issue and when gears are more plentiful. And if people feel his "Icekit" is too weak (or strong) at that point, they can always adjust it in options.

It should also be noted the character was meant to have a working gun for end-game, but we had to abort that because the animation keeps flipping the gun. If anyone has a solution for that, let us know. Icefox may get an update in the future with a major new feature if we can get that working.

The mod is great for people who love challenges and a thrill to stay alive!
The hunger and sanity get down so fast and yet, the strength and perks of the character really balances it well. The art is on point, lots of details in all the customed objects/food items and a great code as well!

I recommend this mod for experienced players.

My personal rating: 8.5/10. Awesome character but too hard of a play style for me. You don't have to keep pointing out it's a fox, *people know* and the mod is still great. Go enjoy a game, that's what Steam is for.

It's odd because I have the exact opposite impression. They seem really ideal for it. To each their own.
