how hard is it to make RNG sounds for weapon firing, is it even possible

@mav - The jukebox has a limited amount of songs that can be used, and if you want to add more than the normal amount you'd have to make a custom script for a new jukebox with different properties to use in a newly made map, since a part of the jukebox' code to pick the songs and play them is basically hardcoded in the maps.

@ ⓀⒾⓃⒼ - Since it’s a script, it can only work in singleplayer/local servers, so on Official it either won’t work at all or play the same song every time.

idk if u still look at these or care about these addons but for me it doesnt seem to work for some reason, as in doesnt play any music at all, with or without admin system, but when i try to use it in a test map, a song plays but its the same one every time. The only other sound mod that could interfere is a credits song replacer. Any and all help would be appreciated.

How would I be able to take the rng script for my own personal use for my own songs? I used a looped part of one of my songs and it says its missing

oh, and this could also theoretically mean that you could steal this guy's script and replace the music files with your own songs, name em the same, and they'd also be rng. just don't publish it to workshop. i might do it for personal use, but don't take this guy's credit

@Hicks I just extracted the addon... the files remain the same:

midnighttank.wav
onebadtank.wav
taank.wav
tank.wav

So yeah, it's definitely script.

Well, also inside the addon is a folder called "Maps," and in this folder are a bunch of text files, names all likened to: "c10m1_caves_level_sounds" for each map.

I think it's a pretty good guess that yeah, there's a line of code in there that pulls a random song every time a big boi appears.

As for if it works in multiplayer, probably not. it edits the game's lua do pick a rando song.
The songs will still be replaced in multiplayer, but you'll get the same song for a normal tank spawn every time. that's because the song files are replaced, but there's no script randomizing them.

For legal reasons I do not condone charging at a tank with a chainsaw.

Instead of running away from a Tank and shooting it, this mod makes me want to charge at the Tank with the Chainsaw.

I turned off rng mod and I started playing on the tank playground map but that song did not play again

You can watch the video attached in the previews, it shows all 4 songs included in this mod. If you are hearing a song other than one of the 4 listed in the video/description you may have an other mod installed which is interfering with this one

Try it in singleplayer or a local server, if it doesn't work there it's possibly due to other mods conflicting

Try it out in singleplayer or on a local server, if it doesn't work there either it's most likely an other mod interfering without showing a conflict.

Umm, the song only plays on Dark Carnival's finale, it doesn't play on other campaign when the tank spawn. I checked my mods and it doesn't conflict with any mods. Any suggestion mod author?

It could probably be applied to other music files or SI themes, providing there's multiple sound files.
Anyone who wants to experiment around with the mod and it's files is welcome to download the .vpk and look around in it

Fun fact: The credits music version by Danny Farrant and Paul Rawson is actually made by me and was one of my first sound mods :p
Another fun fact: "In the pines" by Janel Drewis was one of the 4 placeholder songs for this mod (rng tank music) while i was figuring out the scripts to make songs play randomly (along with Steins;gate - gate of steiner and Billy Talent - Fallen leaves)

I love The Enigma TNG,always love those songs XD,but idk i mean i love a good music mod for the Tank but these all feel a bit too fast,i already have a tank theme with a slower paced rock song,is still quite good and makes my blood pumping when i hear it,this being a bit too fast can induce me into a panic,tho a The Glass Alice for the witch would be an AWSOME music mod,think about it,you already have the song made in 44.1k Hz and all those settings you need to make the music file into to work,since you have that is like a puzzle that you know for sure you have all the pieces,you can make a The Glass Alice for the witch,i might actually subscribe to that =))))),that song goes so well with the witch

I have a seperate tank theme replacing the tank theme with only Deuce - nightmare, if you're interested I'd recommend checking it out!

I put a lot of effort into all my sound mods, even the simple tank theme replacements! I make sure every song is trimmed accurately and loops perfectly, you wouldn't even notice when the trim starts and it loops ;-)
This one took me roughly 3 hours in total to finish, 5 hours if you include my work on the first version with only Killing Floor songs (which I didn't release, since it didn't quite sound right)

Didn't expect a Deuce song to get to the front page in any way or form...

Finally, a tank music that's not a lazy sound replacement.

Yes, midnighttank.wav and onebadtank.wav are replaced with custom songs, and scripts enforce them to be in the "song pool" of playable songs.
This will conflict with concert themes, but if you subscribe to the concert mod before the RNG mod it'll prioritize the concert music (addons higher in the list are prioritized over ones below them)

Technically, yes, if you unpack the VPK and look at the files, there's scripts that enforce songs to play that usually wouldn't (the concert tank themes for default tanks), but I currently lack the experience to do this
