@handsomegrape - First get Fluffy's Mod Manager for Rimworld. The one on steam will work. This will allow you to make local copies of mods within the Rimworld MOD Window. Then you can edit the files in that copied MOD by going to the local copy of rimworlds common files. Defs are what you're looking to edit to pull or add things in/from that mod. If you break the game stop it and go back inside your edit program (notepad++) or if its too broke delete the local copy of the mod (in rimworld mod window) and start over downloading a new copy of the MOD. This will get you familiar with the MOD structure and you can hack at other peoples shizz and learn. I'd find a single item MOD like a gun or something, not a big alien or tons of weapons MOD to start with.

When you use Fluffys Mod Manager the copies of MODs will be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods

Hope this helps you learn on your own.

Personally, I like all the rug styles shown in the preview pics, but then I'm kind of a fan of options....

Oh and I hope you plan to make it compatible with Dub's Paint shop then, that would be super.

Cont) Ah yes, the rug table looked rather ugly as well in the original mod I remember, it ought to look like a loom. That sounds promising, I guess I'll hold off a while then.

Personally I'm partial to middle eastern style rug patterns, just regular rugs really, stuff that won't look too out of place anywhere. The Megasloth and the Thrumbo are too big to be used as rugs imo, and keeping the horn isn't very practical or realistic. A lion rug would be nice though.

@TheGoofyOne Well I've been wanting to get into modding rimworld, but there's a real dearth of proper tutorials, worse yet, pretty much every tutorial starts with; First you have to learn THIS tutorial, and then you read that one and that one says you first have to learn yet another tutorial first and download a ton of crap, ad infinitum. And then it's not even explaining the actual thing you want to be doing. Basically it's not looking like it'll happen any time soon.

But if it's just a matter of removing a few lines of text in a file, that would be doable, as long as there aren't other files referencing/calling to those lines anywhere else.

All of what you want to do is completely possible if you know what to remove from the files. Sorry but it's not one file per rug they are all in the same file. Spend a little time hacking at it and you'll pick it up quickly i'm sure. There is tons of info out there on editing or creating new mods for rimworld that I've never used so i'm not sure where to point you.

I am currently (not rushing) re-working this mod, removing 3D bear rugs, they don't fit the vanilla game, adding a megasloth rug, removing dyed cloth as that's been ported recently and I hate it, creating a new rug table, making a couple hugs a$$ rugs 6 and 8 by 10 I think they were, and just tidying up some other things. Its in testing phase now but looks OK.

Anyone else have any rug ideas/requests? No human rug requests I won't do it. The Lady rug is as close as i'll go.

Thank you for porting this, but a lot of your additions are a tad extreme and/or specific for my taste. Are they contained within singular files/folders so I can remove the ones I don't want?

Thinking about the 2.5D bears, the Thrumbo rug and the rug with the arms, legs and face on it.
And probably the welcome mats and the sherrif star rugs as well, likely won't be using those.

And if I remove the dyed cloth, is this at all compatible with Dub's Paint Shop?

Depending on other mods that may edit the butchering being loaded after or before this mod is all I can think of. Load this later i the mod order would be my first thing to try.

I am not getting any skins from Thrumbo or Bear from butchering... just normal wools

@Sixdd - I'll review this MOD soon as that makes the most sense.

hey just an idea, why not add a recipe to convert the bear/thrumbo hides into the usable leathers. That way everyone can make bear clothes and have a fantastic looking rug too :D

I believe you still get the leather yes. May be OP to get both but its just a rug. ;)

Will thrumbo rug always drop from killed thrumbo? Because i like thrumbo leather to make other pieces of furniture too. Do you can tell the drop rate of the rug material x leather on butchering?

Who buys bear skins? Not the rugs, the skins. I had a midgame grizzly bear mad animal event. 100+ grizzlies. Murdered them all, but now I have 100 plus bear skins. I can turn them into rugs, but it takes 100 cloth and time. Can I sell them as a resource like leather? I haven't been able to find a trader to buy them.

I'm unable to burn tainted apparel that is made out of colored cloth. Are you able to make them burnable?

(if they do upadte theirs, please dont just take yours down :)

its always a bit worrying (as a player) if a modder suddenly zaps one of their mods, or to merge it with another mod, as what do we do? (zap the original, and add the new, before loading a
savegame.. or load the savegame, realise a mod has been auto steam zapped, and try to delete anything made by that mod, etc etc :) (thats why i keep running out of space making backups lol)

if possible (and if that event takes place), maybe just mentioning a link back to theirs would be best instead of zapping this one :)
