There are two newer versions of this, but lack the angled variant. I wonder if someone will actually add it?

is it possible to revert the thrust dmg area back i can't use my old ships at all with this as the flame range on yours are doubled

@Reika thankfully thats a matter of opinion, some of them are broke some of them need updates, but overall design and theme is a matter of opinion.

There are by far worst mods on this site that make less since then industrial thruster being atmosphere thruster.

I am aware. And that would make no sense; this thruster is long, narrow, and sealed on all sides except one - it is NOT a plausible jet engine.

There are settings that can be placed into the mods files that will make it a hybrid ion/ atmo... the atmosphere effectivenesss settings...

No, these are - and were always clearly intended to be - ion drives. The *technically function* in atmosphere, but are borderline useless when doing so.
