In the animation set editor, try right clicking the old model, utilities, reattach to model.
It's not uncommon for something like this to happen with updated models. Hopefully that works.
If that doesn't work you could also try spawning in a new model and copying all the keyframes from the old model, to the new one.

The model itself is extremly overlighted. Using a light makes it white bright and the light intesity has to be very low. This should be fixed.
