@hanspni it's conceivable that there's some odd behaviour that's due to the mod having multiple external connections - but I've never used the standard truck stop as a final delivery point; I prefer to have a single final delivery point for each type of good, so maybe that's why I never noticed it.

I loved it, added gras and other vegetation around. That i normally only does when developing my industry area. I have 3-4000 hours of playing this game. But i am a experience player. First i notice was the construction plant stopped deliver when using gate 5, not 1 single brick, demand was huge. Since it was no industry close the distribution center obvious had no demand. Goods for shop worked as it was a lot of it local. I had to change back to another distrubution center and demand got back to normal. It was no problem with connection to my other center, but to my delivery point in the city. It might work if i used other local delivery point, but not with those i use in city. Why i can`t tell, but it did. Adding a screenshot so u can see it dropped and how it got back to normal when i changed. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1695028253257500768/D39644B30705D1D3AD6A1E8AD0C9265E6AED8A7B/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

@hanspni - I'm glad you like the mod, but the effect you describe is impossible. There is no non-native code in the mod that affects distribution behaviour (the only code in it is for transforming models). It acts EXACTLY like the vanilla truck stops, so goods will leave it in response to demand.

The difference with the vanilla truck stops is that because it's the entry and exit roads that determine the origin point of the distribution area, *it distributes over a wider area." Although not all that much.

This is my experience with this mood: It solve your logistic problems and it`s a beatiful distribution centre. But the mayor issue is that it don`t distribute cargo. At least not to "drop poimts" that i use in the city. It sendt all goods to another centre that cover another part of city. And it deliver to it`s local area. Almost nothing to rest of city. My distributiom dropped from 7000 to 3000 with this mood. And most of the 3000 was shipped to the other distribution central. So the issue is between this centre and drop points. And i`m doing it correct, i have several of thousands of playtime with this game. To bad because i loved how it looks and how it was organized.

@TheGreenFellow it's worse than that. Segments don't have a fixed length, it all depends on the vectors when you build, so often you have to divide a road by creating a junction, first. This turns one segment into two vectors, which enables you to delete the offending segment... unless you've had the road too steep error in which case the best solution is to delete a chunk of roads and put in extra junctions manually that you delete when you're finished, so there are more segments...
(Protip about that: if you go into bulldoze mode, you can see the 'segments' of the road that the game seems to work around, if you aim your connection points at where these segments meet, you'll avoid the road humps)
I don't think he's talking about terrain, that's just the game's kinda wonky road connection behavior in general. I actually go around fixing automatically built roads all the time that wind up creating oddly steep and short segments...hopefully that'll be better in TPF2
@RolandBP yeah you need some fairly flat terrain, if nothing else because I still haven't completely understood how assets modify the terrain immediately around them.
I have made use of this mod in several locations and although it was tricky to get it connecting to an existing road without it causing the existing road to develop humps, with some care I finally got it to work nicely.
Many thanks I am happy with its usefulness :steamhappy:
TheGreenFellow 2019 年 6 月 19 日 上午 1:02
Turns out I did wind up needing it, but I've found they're best used together rather than one or the other! Thanks for these mods!
@SPQR Darn, I was hoping the 4-lane entryway could just sorta be simply applied to other depots besides the 2-terminal version - since that's always been the biggest chokepoint of any depot, modded or not, in my experience.

Duly noted, I shall bear that in mind if I need the slicker version after all. :)
@TheGreenFellow my big problem is that I have to work with existing assets. I just don't have time to learn blender. So I'm somewhat limited in what I can make work. This includes improving the existing stations (or improving Tossi's improvement).

Also, you're quite right. I did the first truck exchange to teach myself the basics, and this is essentially a slicker version of that.
So is this essentially your Truck Distribution mod with more 'forks' possible?

Also, while you're at it with truck depot mods, what do you feel about improving on Tossi's modified truck station?
@Tactical Combat Peanut I tried it but it looked weird. I was thinking about doing a "ghost" terminal with no road. We'll see.
Fortune Calls 2019
Possibility for 1 terminal in the bottom section?
Personally, I like setting up station/MY/loading areas from separate components because the landscape and layout of each town is different. I use various wall and fence mods, as well as the indispensible Paver to make it all look like a single transportation hub.
@Tryst49 centralization of incoming materials can be achieved using any cargo station - truck, rail or ship. Train-lorry handover is done by connecting a freight station to a truck station. Having said that, maybe what you need is this cargo container freight station ?
Would also be nice to have a train/lorry handover. Trains unload and lorries take the goods to the appropriate places. This would happen in real life as train stations are never right near the places the goods have to go to.

It would also help to allow centralisation of incoming materials from further away for distribution to more than one local factory etc. I notice on most maps on every corner, there's always one of the resources that has to be brought in from a long distance away.
Batlin 2019
Only yesterday I was just thinking that something like this was exactly the kind of truck station I needed. Thank you!
@gr1m it's nice of you to say so, but I'm really just making stuff that I've wanted.
Green Ranger (aka Gr1m) 2019
You're spoiling us with all these new station configurations. They're all so damn cool!
@jonathansteward I see what you mean. I guess it would make sense for a small local station. But for a big main line station it's better to keep them separate for organization. What I'm working on right now are some truck stations that fit together more naturally with both industries and with existing cargo stations - although if you want a small cargo station with integrated truck stops there's already this: Small Freight Station .
@SPQR Power man has the right idea.
I like the idea of taking one side being a truck line and then into a local truck line.
But why not create another mod which combines a train station and vehicle station.

Passenger train station and a bus stop in one
Freight station and a truck stop in one.

This stops people from needing to place both and hopefully being more efficient!
i think he means the same concept as this, but with a train station as well as road trucks
@jonathansteward I don't understand. This concept is a local goods distribution hub. I can't see how it could also have railways and busses. What am I missing?
Love the idea but would love to see this concept with train lines as well! (Both for passengers and busses and trucks and freight trains
@Ninjajrm thanks for making that clearer. But I won't do that, because my priority is preventing the routes from crossing, in order to avoid traffic congestion. But hey... there are still more things I want to learn about routing trucks within stations so you never know...

Right now I'm working on two further truck stop mods where there are separate entrances and exits. They're a lot simpler than this one, but might provide part of what you're looking for.
So have all the in and out roads but have it so like if a truck goes in one it can then drop off/pick up some goods then go out another exit
@Ninjajrm not quite sure what you mean.
Could also try one with them all being able to go in to other connecters like but still have all the roads
This is actually one of the best practical mods I've seen on the workshop - thanks! :-)
Absolutely again another must sub! Thanking you muchly good SPQR, any chance of a rail part, either replacing one truck stop or add onto?
