damn shame really liked this mod

This mod hasn't been updated in over a year, but it seems as though there have been attempts to necro/fork it. Look for those instead of trying this mod since the author doesn't seem to want to work on it anymore.

@kawaiiwhalelord That is how humanoid alien races work. If you use my converted version of the mod in my previous message, you won't have those issues.

is it supposed to be another race? My forsaken show up as baseliner, but still look like forsaken and come with all the gear, maybe I have a mod conflict

The conversion to biotech seems to be in a presentable state at this time and can be found at https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3100999057 . A couple of features are still missing because they were a part of the assembly file which I will convert later, but the vast majority of the content is there. If the dev sees this comment, I would like to get in touch to verify permissions and such.

@Major_Quadrangle Awesome. And I wouldn't assume you're being ignored. Lots of modders have just moved on to other things. I'd suggest just doing what a lot of people do: Publish it, and make it clear that if the original mod developer requests it's removal, you'll comply.

@Fawx I have completed all of the new textures and I just have to build the XML files now. Just a few problems I have to work out. The mod won't depend on alpha genes after all, but if you have it, it will patch itself to sort its genes into the gene categories from alpha genes as well as add an attack to some of the horns. I would prefer to hear back from a developer from THIS mod before publishing it, but nothing so far. I am thinking that perhaps I am being ignored because I have no modding history and they think I'm making promises I can't keep, so I made a preview image. As you can see, the forsakens do not have hair or the fat body type, and getting children is going to be difficult, but all of those things can still be done with a xenogerm, so that is why I have them displayed in this screenshot.

I am in the process of converting this mod to use biotech instead of HAR for private use. This necessitates recreating the body textures completely because the yellow stuff and the valleys on the skin have to be separated from the skin texture and made into genes in order to get it to play nice with everything else. I am also upscaling some of the textures to match the quality present in the alpha genes mod, which is probably going to be a requirement for my version of the mod because it has some genes that work very well with recreating the forsakens already in it and I also don't think many people will mind since the forsakens are more or less a part of the alpha series of mods in any case. I'm pretty happy with how it looks so far. If a dev is interested, I will submit it for your judgement when I get it functional.

Just a quick question. Is it compatible with Alpha Animals, since already has the Nightling, and I don't wanna have duplicating creatures. Otherwise, great mod.

My forsaken doensn't get pregnant while all the other races do. The hdiff timer which normally indicates how much longer before birth (Dev mode) show -999 instead. Tried messing with severity (Stage of pregnancy) but instead of going to 1 (Birth) it lowered towards 0. All in all, the pawn gets pregnant for a solid second before the hediff automatically removing itself.

Is there some special reason why the Black Hydra gun can't be smelted? I had a few lying around after a raid and didn't want to use them, but when looking at the smelter recipes I found that the Black Hydra was missing from the list.

I found out if you give them sheer white skin in the gene editor they get the right skin color.
seems like a problem with the gene system in biotech.

I only have one question. Why is their skin color dark red instead of dark purple?

This is the exact error: Failed to find any textures at Pawns/Forsaken/Head/AG_Female_Fox_Average_Normal while constructing

It does say "female fox head" because I tried changing the head type in hopes it would apply a head, but it still is doing the same exact thing. This happens frequently, causing the error log to appear every few moments.

I'm getting error messages regarding Forsaken heads and well, when a forsaken takes off something like the gas mask it spawned with when creating my colony, there's...no head. And the error is saying error in finding the head for the Forsaken.

It would be REALLY nice if this was a xenotype. Not only because it would just... work better, but also because that would mean you would be able to make your own Forsakens using the xenotype editor. Sad that this mod is no longer having content added.

I second Rimfy, HAR messes up a lot of mods here lately, and Forsakens paired with Alpha Animals and Biomes is a blessing in disguise.

Any chance you'd make these into Xenotypes? Miss having these guys around

Hi! All is working well but maybe make their cloaks ether weaker or more expencive to make. With built in shield and abbility to wear flak west's underneath they render everything else obsolete, recon, marine, even the heavy forsacen armor after it, while being cheaper to make. Colonist refuse to wear anything else until it falls of them.

Wish they are xenomorphs instead of just a baseliner

i think a lot of features in this mod rely on Humanoid Alien Races mod, if the creator switches everything to a xenotype a LOT of changes would have to be made
