Of course you can also move ballast or even weapons around, using pistons or rotators. Or try if tractor beams can carry and release ballast --- haven't tried that one.
For planes and at least in real life, you want the CoM before the CoL, or you will be unstable and tend to flip over; but still fairly close, as with a CoM at the nose and CoL at the tail you have become an arrow or lawn dart --- very hard to maneuver.
With helicopters, the always-up force is very, *VERY* kind to builders, and again a PID would be a great help for keeping things on an even keel.
Lel, recently, I've been trying curves in my design to create a MIL28 similar build. (It's not going well, mimics hurt my brain)
Sounds like me then! My cubes aren’t very arerodynamic... though, I’m getting better! Next, I think I’ll try, well, who knows!
And, my bad! (I have had some bad luck with people on steam recently, so that may have colored my interpretation of it)

that is just rude. It's a practice vessel, not a perfect vessel! And, it's still usable, and pretty effective! And, you mispelled the acrynoym!
