I hope you make a separate mutation for unlimited pistol ammo, its really annoying to run out when youre in trouble. other wise this is a great mutation you made!

Or you could make an update on this so you can grab pistol ammo on ammo piles instead of trying to find a pistol to get more ammo :P

So far, I haven't found any way to have a full counter for secondary weapons. It could be impossible thanks to how the game hides secondary ammo, from what I have read in modding discussions.
I could make a sub-mutation like I have for the no collisions but with unlimited pistol ammo, though!

Sounds good man. Is there any way you can fix so the ammo counter is visible for the pistols? or maybe make a version that makes the pistols have unlimited ammo like vanilla version?

I've been able to reproduce what I've lost due to a hard drive failure thusfar thanks to a couple redundant saves in Google Drive and I will continue development of this mod! Next in line is the invisible hunter as that was what the last save had, but I will have to re-evaluate further additions and try to remember how I did them.

Yeah, the population.txt file I used in this mutation is outdated due to how The Last Stand Update handled their populations. (and one of the police commons spawns with a nightstick now so yaaay)

Luckily, I've got a few potential fixes for those problems to include in the next update.

@Left 4 Gaming YT I don't know how to make HUDs for Left 4 Dead :( but the Zero team made a perfect one before their retirement. You can find it here: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/groups/Left4DeadZero/announcements/detail/2702614367200045279 . Also as to why it's not working, I'd need more details. Is it booting to main menu when you load a map, crashing, not loading the scripts, all at the same time?

@Andy's Toy As far as I can tell I can't do it through cvars. The smoker pulling survivors really quick kind of does this, though, as you have less time to be "pinned" before reaching the smoker but I get what ya mean. I'll look into it once I'm done with a few other things to see if I can do it some other way.

@Carrots Currently the boomer can do damage if he's killed close to survivors, though the vomit's still in-tact. I've tried reducing the duration to 0 and -1 but L4D2's like "Nah". Also the smoker could spawn clouds at will in the beta, from what it looked like. I'm trying to figure out how to convert that into the mutation. Currently in my test version I have it to where a smoke cloud spawns when survivors are pulled near him, shoving them away but I'd like to also convert some permanent health to temporary as well as it was more of a poison effect than it was a pure damage attack.

Usually restarting the game fixes that. If that's not the case, right click Left 4 Dead 2 in your library, go to properties, then local files, now click "Verify integrity of game files". This should replace any of my mod's leftover files with the base game's files.

Sometimes Steam doesn't completely remove custom mutations, unfortunately. Worst comes to shove, you might have to delete your config.cfg and/or autoexec.cfg and re-verify your files. If you have to do that I would suggest setting those two files (after verification) as "Read-Only" to prevent future mutations from breaking them.

If nothing above solves it please let me know and I'll try to offer suggestions where I can

As I remembered, The boomer's explosion after death would also hurt the player and the bots too. I also remembered cloud of smoke after the smoker's death would also hurt you too.

The one-hit kill of the witch is to compensate for the lack of her ability to chase after all survivors if someone startled her. She didn't instantly kill survivors in the actual beta as far as I'm aware.

@ , No, this only changes command variables and includes vscript. I would suggest checking out Sourcemod for any plugins for the cut animations.

@FreddyFatBear, You and me both, man. Though there have been great strides here recently in restoring L4D2's E3 elements by other modders on the workshop, which is fantastic!

Left 4 Dead 2 doesn't properly disable that cvar when you close out of the mutation. The new update doesn't have that cvar anymore for that very reason. It's an easy fix though, just type these commands into the console:

cl_crosshair_blue 220
cl_crosshair_green 182
cl_crosshair_red 138

If that doesn't fix it then search for the file "config.cfg" in your Left 4 Dead 2 directory and replace the cl_crosshair commands with the ones above. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@Anyone who might've had the infinite loading glitch/this mutation just doesn't work. An update has been released and I think I might've found the cause of the issue and have deleted it. If you would, I'd like to know if it actually worked. Have fun!

On another note, the gamemaps version is live! If you want to download from there then it's now an option!
