Luckily, I've got a few potential fixes for those problems to include in the next update.
@Andy's Toy As far as I can tell I can't do it through cvars. The smoker pulling survivors really quick kind of does this, though, as you have less time to be "pinned" before reaching the smoker but I get what ya mean. I'll look into it once I'm done with a few other things to see if I can do it some other way.
@Carrots Currently the boomer can do damage if he's killed close to survivors, though the vomit's still in-tact. I've tried reducing the duration to 0 and -1 but L4D2's like "Nah". Also the smoker could spawn clouds at will in the beta, from what it looked like. I'm trying to figure out how to convert that into the mutation. Currently in my test version I have it to where a smoke cloud spawns when survivors are pulled near him, shoving them away but I'd like to also convert some permanent health to temporary as well as it was more of a poison effect than it was a pure damage attack.
Sometimes Steam doesn't completely remove custom mutations, unfortunately. Worst comes to shove, you might have to delete your config.cfg and/or autoexec.cfg and re-verify your files. If you have to do that I would suggest setting those two files (after verification) as "Read-Only" to prevent future mutations from breaking them.
If nothing above solves it please let me know and I'll try to offer suggestions where I can
The one-hit kill of the witch is to compensate for the lack of her ability to chase after all survivors if someone startled her. She didn't instantly kill survivors in the actual beta as far as I'm aware.
@ , No, this only changes command variables and includes vscript. I would suggest checking out Sourcemod for any plugins for the cut animations.
@FreddyFatBear, You and me both, man. Though there have been great strides here recently in restoring L4D2's E3 elements by other modders on the workshop, which is fantastic!

Check out 3:24 for shoving and 3:37 for damage.

If that doesn't fix it then search for the file "config.cfg" in your Left 4 Dead 2 directory and replace the cl_crosshair commands with the ones above. Sorry for the inconvenience.
On another note, the gamemaps version is live! If you want to download from there then it's now an option!
