My biggest qualm is immediately obvious--the real-life super high density between Yonge and University isn't there...instead there's high rise nodes popping up in odd places like Leaside, Ossington and elsewhere....
Also, the original cluster you have for DT is placed too far west (I assume these are to represent the city's major skyscrapers)--again, this should be east of University. You missed York street--hardly a major artery but necessary to get the density needed in the DT corridor.
Also...the major gap between the Gardiner and the Lake should also be narrowed or filled in--this looks like TO twenty years ago!
With a few changes I reckon this could be one cracker of a map!! Good job.
@Detroit_Kitteh - I think others have already done it, but I will consider it for a future project :)
@Your Mom - Ottawa was actually my next project and will be released today!
@Dobilia - lol :)
@Mochigai - that was a conscious decision. Rail is not a feature of this game, and it can only be modeled semi-realistically with metro tracks. That does, however, introduce the issue that those tracks then can be "abused" by the player for their transportation network. It is for this reason that I decided to leave all rail off my city maps, but as you see, they are painted on the ground for aesthetic enhancement. You can, of course, put in those rail lines yourself in the map editor if you really want!
I'm also not a fan of the fictional Rosedale Valley superhighway. It's aethetically fine in CiM, but I would hate to see any such thing in my city. It also has the effect of making Bloor and Danforth seem less important and less wide than they are. I suppose I'm free to demolish it once my company starts making more money.
This is a great map just like your other work. I really enjoy playing it and is very realistic as I am from Toronto. I was wondering if you could create a Mississauga map (just west of Toronto) because I really like your work on the maps. Anyways thanks for a great map and keep up the good work!
