KrAZ-260 is a three-axle, high-mobility truck designed for transporting cargo, personnel, and towing trailers across rough terrain and all types of roads.
The development of the KrAZ-260 began in the 1960s at the design bureau of the Kremenchuk Automobile Plant under the leadership of chief designer V. V. Tabolin.
Mass production started in 1981 and ran parallel to the KrAZ-255B1. The KrAZ-260 was intended to replace the KrAZ-255B. Production continued until 1993, with a total of 15,279 units manufactured.
