Is this still working properly?
I have a sector loaded (it's green in the Sector Manager menu) and I have 2 miners set to mine sector there but If I am not in that sector I don't get any ores, if I jump back in sector I start getting resources.

@DaytonFox there are Options (server or serversettings.ini) in the game folder .
There is following command:

emptySectorUpdateInterval=1 default is 0.5 try to play arround with that but pls tell me your experience im testing that right now too

This is mainly for Servers. In vanilla singleplayer you are allowed to keep as many sectors as your pc can handle. This mod allows you to specifically keep a set of sectors loaded constantly while you are connected

Is this mod working only on hosted servers? I trie to use it in solo, but my miners still slow when i am not in the same sector with them

You are right. The clientevent onSelectMapCoordinates(x, y) doesn't fire anymore. Hence you won't see the selected sector anymore. It sure did fire until 2.0.2. This is a bug with Avorion, and nothing I can do about

I'm confused, when I click on "Select Sector" and it opens up the Galaxy Map, but the UI disappears and I have no option to add the sector via right click or anything... Is there a hotkey or something?

Does this mod have any command line calls that a server admin can use to manually load sectors or is it only accessible via the gui buttons when players are logged in?

@FuryoftheStars: If you say, trade with ai factories a lot, they don't do much when you're not in their sector. The base game can fake it to some degree, and simulate what happened since your last visit but to continue manufacture and trade normally, the sector has to be loaded. By default, sectors with players in them have priority (Or are the only ones running at all, for multiplayer). Even 3-5 sectors can bog down pcs that aren't fairly high end. Especially with larger ships, lots of turrets, or fighters.

0.24.1 introduced a problem with "addScriptOnce" not working properly (it adds scripts more than once). Which I can neither fix nor circumvent
