they can haul yes, like any recruit you can get. you may have other mods that cause this issue.
dumb flag is basically as you said; can't talk to npc.

Can the recruited fogmen do stuff like hauling? they seem to just ignore those orders for me. I thought maybe setting dumb=false would help but it only let them speak to others

Hi, so I'm only able to recruit one fogman at a time & can only ever recruit a new fogman if I import my save. i've seen a couple of comments on here alluding to being able to change the recruitment rate however I am unsure on where/how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I believe you will have to edit your save with the editor and change their name from there.
Or you can make a mod that's make fogmen not dumb, but it can have side effects.

how do a change the fog men to be able to talk want to change there names. i looked in the mod editor and changing dumb doesn't let them talk.

My mod is using fast recruitment only. If an interface show at the recruitment, it is likely to be another mod.

I would recommend:
- to check the mod order (1. Enlightened Fogman Prince, 2. insane difficulty, 3. Hivers Extended, 4. compatibility mod)
- Ask the author of the compatibility mod for support (I don't know much about hiver ext. and I did not work on the compatibility mod)

I tried again, it's working fine without Hivers extended, so my first guess would be the compatibility mod.

On a fresh game start with the following mods: HiversExtended, Enlightened Prince, Enlightened Prince Insane difficulty, Enlightened Prince HiversExtended compatibility. The crash happens when recruiting. Sometimes when I recruit the fogman joins without any character options showing (I believe this is called fast recruitement) Other times randomly, I get the option to change name as well as character apperance. Other than those two options the game crashes.

Any more info that could help to reproduce the issue?

Sometimes the game crashes when I recruit a fogman of any kind. Not sure what is the cause as I removed most of my mods that could cause conflicts. So I am stumped.

Is there a way to make the starting stats for the fog price at 1 ? I want to have a default start

xSPQRxlegionary Shouldn't happen. But I didn't tested this mod for years now, so I don't know. If you have time, can you give a try without any other mods installed? just to see if you have the same issue.

so i changed the value to fogman recruit to no wait limit or whatever and it still doesn't work. I have gotten 1 or 2 fogmen in like 2 hours of playing and I just need someone to help me out to where i can just recruit a decent amount just for fun.

I don't have much modding knowledge with animals interaction in Kenshi, so I don't know if it is feasible.
Last resort if you can't find a way, would be to script a npc somewhere in foglands that trad animals... however, it's not very RP (but easy to do). You can also search for a mod that interact with animals, download it and look how he managed the interaction.

In "Fogman recruit" Dialogue, you can change:
Increase "chance permanent" to increase the chance of having the dialogue active
Descrese "repetition limit" value to inscrease the frequancy to trigger the dialogue

I looked through FCS to see if there was an obvious way to increase the frequency of being able to recruit, and i couldnt find anything. Is there anyway i could do this myself? Any help would be appreciated!

Theres a timer so you have to wait for quite a while to talk to them again. Just keep looking

Question! If i download this mod, will this affect my other gameplays? For example i dont want to run into the foglands and be able to talk to fogmen or something. That doesn't happen right?

Sorry I forgot to respond to this, I found the fix, weirdly enough a dialogue mod caused incompatibility. I didn't think it would at first because you don't talk to fogmen.

If a mod use EV_PLAYER_TALK_TO_ME in dialogue_package of fogman, yes it may cause issue, but a crash looks very suspisious. Can you try to put my mod higher priority in your mod list and test? Otherwise I will need more info to help you (like the mods you have enabled).

I had look in the 1st video; yes, it is the startgame he pick but as he said: he have many mods and altered some for his playthrough (included mine, as he changed the % chance to get the dialogue to recruit fogmen)

Yes it is possible, there are constantes in the game that you can pick for that, like 2h, 6h, 48h. I don't remember by heart but there are not much. It is in dialogue window, on the right panel (repetition limite). You can also randomize the chance for this dialogue to show. I used both in my mod. gl
