@Zandezitos No. It doesn't really change the resolution of files. It just makes them sharper or blurrier (no effect on performance). If you're running out of memory you need to reduce your modlist or at least get rid of some texture changing mods.
Zandezitos 29 NOV a las 4:02
Can it make mod textures less quality? My problem is that i don't need high res textures with most of my mods have and that causes that i can't start the game cause of memory allocation error
La__fonzi 28 NOV a las 16:05
@bradson all ready tried that be for comenting still no differance. i have no blurry sprite or images without this mod so i see no need to use it under those conditions just thought it strange that it it was doing the oposite thing for me than intended
Maxim  [autor] 26 NOV a las 7:51
I need to update this anyway, I was almost certain I had that option, but I suppose that was part of my main framework!
VitaKaninen 26 NOV a las 6:19
Thanks. I looked for it, but missed it, somehow.
bradson 26 NOV a las 6:18
@VitaKaninen That option is already there. It's labeled "Display main menu button"
Hugalafutro 26 NOV a las 0:02
@Midnight, yes compatible with Character Editor
bradson 20 NOV a las 23:07
@La__fonzi That's what the mipmap bias slider is there for. Reset that to its default value of -0.7 to not have things blurry, or move it to something better than what you seem to have set
DuckGoosebear PrairieDogLover 20 NOV a las 17:21
@Midnight yep, compatible with Cooking Expanded
Midnight 20 NOV a las 17:04
Is it CE compatible?
La__fonzi 20 NOV a las 13:18
this mod just flat out doesnt seem to work as intended. i got a new monitor 1920x1080 being the only thing that has changed otherwise same mod list. with the mod enabled and also being at the lowest point in my load order makes everything except vanilla blurry as hell. not in my mod list nothing is blurry. im so confused
CyberneticGoof 18 OCT a las 13:27
@Eventide for atting has always done the workshop files. As I've experienced many times on my last 1.6 run before this issue. I was manually editing the animal hood mod to remove the tribal restriction and had to reset it whenever I verified.
VitaKaninen 27 SEP a las 18:53
I am just saying, it has always worked for me. I can mess or delete my workshop files and Steam will repair whatever I do to them, even if I just edit some xml inside a file. It doesn't do that for you?
Eventide 27 SEP a las 17:55
@ViaKaninen, you're free to look it up if you want. I'm not getting into the details of how Steam verifies workshop files.
VitaKaninen 27 SEP a las 17:49
@Evantide, I am not sure why people keep saying that, unless I just have it enabled in the settings. Verifying the game files takes about 10 secs or less, and then the next 45 secs are spent verifying the workshop files.

When you click the progress bar at the bottom of Steam while it is verifying, it tells you that it is verifying all your workshop files. When it is done, it tells you that it is downloading the missing workshop files.

Here is an example where I deleted the Graphics Setting+ folder: https://imgur.com/a/zDc88Rq
Eventide 27 SEP a las 11:47
@Harduk, Did you use Rimpy or Rimsort to convert the textures? What do you have the mipmap bias setting at in this mod's options?
Eventide 27 SEP a las 11:46
@CyberneticGoof, verifying Rimworld files will usually not verify workshop files as well. There's a troubleshooting tab in Rimsort that can help you do that instead.
bradson 27 SEP a las 11:38
@Harduk So just change the mipmapbias setting to a different value then, or the default even. There aren't exactly a lot of things to move around
Harduk 27 SEP a las 10:53
Mod seems to cause some icons (Passions for example) to show blurry.
CyberneticGoof 26 SEP a las 17:12
@vitakaninen at this point if done full unsubscribe full fresh install over 3 times including clearing steam download cache and verifying integrity trying to figure this out before I got help lol. I only found out it might have been between rimpy and Rimsort shenanigans from a previous comment on here lol
CyberneticGoof 26 SEP a las 17:03
@bradson how do I know which mod it is in the error box? I know it says it failed to find textures for 'rustic' and 'spikecore' for example because those names are called out but otherwise I never see a mod name in the error :( ty for the help !
VitaKaninen 26 SEP a las 17:01
@bradson, I know of a few mods use .dds textures as part of their mod, instead of jpg or png, so one possibility is that when a user deletes all the .dds files in their mods folder, it breaks some mods. They would need to verify the game files after doing a mass delete of .dds files in order to restore the mod.

This can also cause permanent errors if the mod author did not use a texture size that is compatible with the new update.
bradson 26 SEP a las 16:51
@CyberneticGoof Texture loading errors that remain after deleting generated files and verifying integrity would likely simply be the result of a mod's author having made a mistake, like wrong file names or paths specified. At that point it'd make sense to read the error message and look up what files it's complaining about
CyberneticGoof 26 SEP a las 16:38
Hey I know this may not be the best place to get help but I don't know what else to try lol.
I recently added some old 1.5 mods that I had texture converted with rimpy and used this mod for. And now with 1.6 I swapped to rimsort and converted my textures with that. With my new mod list it keeps giving me failure to load textures errors.

At this point I went to rimpy and deleted its cache of dds textures. Then uninstalled rimpy. I then verified integrity after resubbing to this mod.
Still having errors loading textures. Any help?
bradson 13 SEP a las 6:18
@BottledDew This article has it explained very well, imo, with plenty of gifs: https://bgolus.medium.com/sharper-mipmapping-using-shader-based-supersampling-ed7aadb47bec
The default -0.7 this mod replaces the blurry vanilla value with should look good for most resolutions. Doesn't have a noticeable performance hit either, even when using a 3dfx gpu from 2000 according to reviews from anandtech and the likes
BottledDew 13 SEP a las 5:55
What does override mipmap biase do?
Wolf Renegade 3 SEP a las 18:35
Would it be possible to add a scroll wheel to the memory tab?
VitaKaninen 1 SEP a las 0:39
@TheBoogeyMan, how did you create the textures in the first place? Use that same tool to delete them.
Maxim  [autor] 31 AGO a las 22:57
This mod does not convert any textures, it only allows loading .dds.
The latest RW patch however, which added .dds loading, throws errors instead of falling back to other file types.
TheBoogeyMan 31 AGO a las 22:52
How do i remove all of the DDS files this mod converted? Its causing textures to break and not load properly. I know its this mod as it never happened before i added it. I wanna play a new game but cant cause this keeps messing my textures up
Porknelius 31 AGO a las 7:29
@Eventide Same here. Others, go to settings in Rimsort and make sure you're using Topologically and that the box for 'Use dependancy rules for sorting' is ticked. I've used this for 2 months with modpacks over 500 and never had a problem.
Eventide 30 AGO a las 13:22
@Seth'cor, I've never had a single problem with sorting with Rimsort. You can always edit the rules in the app itself for the mods you're having a problem with. Can submit it to the community rules too so it'll fix for everyone using the community rules.
Seth'cor 30 AGO a las 12:43
Rimpys sort function still works well, though its a fairly simple thing to do, haven't had Rimsort sort mods in a way that works yet, it keeps wanting to load mods with dependencies before their depended mod.
GodzillaNaps 29 AGO a las 14:01
Eventide -- thanks for that info. I had no idea and was just now troubleshooting that.
Eventide 29 AGO a las 11:06
Seth'cor, Rimpy has been breaking things for a while now. Rimpy is a few years out of date.. Switch to Rimsort for something actually still updated and supported.
Seth'cor 29 AGO a las 9:57
seems the fallback of loading PNG feature s being overwritten by the new in game DDS loading.

Also seems the Rimpy converter just breaks things.
BRSaura 29 AGO a las 3:32
@Magnum Where are those DDS files? In the mod folder themselves? Because there's nothing in the Appdata
Magnum 29 AGO a las 0:43
Just for those with question marks as texture replacement. It is not this mod. Rimworld now supports dds files without any mod. But in contrast to this mod - without a fallback to the original texture.

To fix: Either delete all the dds files or just the one that are invalid.
Dewa 28 AGO a las 23:51
"Added the ability for mods to load textures from DDS files, which should load significantly faster than PNG files and potentially at higher quality."

o7
Eventide 28 AGO a las 19:21
The mod still gives the mipmap bias setting and memory analysis just like Maxim has just recently said.. So the mod is still needed for those.
pillbug2 28 AGO a las 19:07
o7 thanks for all the fish
PROVIDENCE 28 AGO a las 18:26
So this mod no longer needed now?
FlyOnTheWall 28 AGO a las 17:02
o7?
Anemia 28 AGO a las 14:46
the base game added support for DDS and didnt even make a big deal about it
Darkstar 24 AGO a las 15:39
FWIW, this mod is still super useful with the new unstable beta. The game throws red exceptions whenever it can't load a dds file. This mod switches those to warnings and loads the png files instead.

I'm betting that folks will be complaining about a lot of missing texture errors if the devs leave it as is.
jpinard 24 AGO a las 13:33
Fantastic! That will be awesome Maxim.
Maxim  [autor] 22 AGO a las 8:30
I will most likely focus on texture settings like mipmap bias and memory/resource analysis then
Eclipse 22 AGO a las 8:28
https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/1mq4snm/odyssey_qol_patch_on_unstable_164552_rev385/

With vanilla dds implementation what is the future of this mod?
asvc 22 AGO a las 4:24
This mod will be maintained as a setting mod that alters mipmap bias and so on right?
bradson 22 AGO a las 4:12
Correct, on the unstable branch. It still has the same old blurry default mipmap bias though
