Hmm... Been a long time since I played SE. Perhaps a revisit.

Just tried it today finding Oil Shale on planets and I am able to use the oil refinery to fill a tank and run the petrol engine this is a great mod ty!

Amazing mod! Way to think outside of the box on this one. Sorry updates broke this but maybe one day Keen will stop implementing changes that break great work like this.

Guys, is there a plan to finish the mod? Replace atmospheric engines with gasoline + make a tab in the G menu

I don't think the mod has been updated since Pertam was added, so there won't be any petrol-related stuff on or in the planet.

Will oil spawn on pertam,the planet covered by desert? I've been driving to the other side of the planet but never find any oil. Because very few plant can survive pertam's environment?

Yes I found coal and shale ore not far from my base on ice lake.

Unless the game's changed, entire planets aren't saved to disk, they're generated from the given parameters each time.
The only saved parts are ones you've modified (Drilled, etc), and even then I've had them change their ore before.

If a world was generated without this mod,and then add this mod into the world,the oil ore still won't generate right? Is there still a way to obtain oil?

Hi there. Can you please give me your permission to use your mod for our server? In fact, i want to remove blades from it and rebalance petrol/coal generator power production to match our needs. It would be easier if i was allowed to reupload it as "unlisted" for our server usage while adding full credits to you together with all the links. Reupload is solely needed to remove blade models to reduce mod weight. We do already use other mod for propellers, also, propellers from your mod lag me out when they are damaged/destroyed in SP game (sadly, no idea why and models are really cool, btw).

in order to spawn the ore, each planet to do so would need to be custom modded.

Look for a mod called Greyserverplanets. They include planets that use this mod and the T3 mod.

Honestly I am thrilled to hear it. I included a bunch of stuff that I thought should be vanilla. Water should not be a power supply. Oil and Coal make sense. Easy to implement. I did it, and I will never understand why KEEN didn't.

Also check out my T3 mod. Sort of a next tier tech mod.

I have, at lease for now, given up on KEEN.

Too much is missing, and KEEN has all but given up on gameplay.

This mod seems to now be broken as when I try to add just in then load it into my game, I get the corrupted game error. It may be that it's incompatible with DranKof's Better Stone mod. Whatever the case may be, though I was excited about this one, I'm gonna have to write it off as borked. :(

Btw, want more realism with your mod? Coal is really overpowered here compared to realism, considering you have Realism as one of your arguments for petrol.

Just a bit of math here...
So a KG of coal can produce 24 MJ of energy. That's enough to produce 24 MW for one second. Your coal power plant produces 10 MW's, using like... 0.04 coal every idk, 10? 20 seconds, maybe even rarer.
Realistically it should consume 1kg of coal every 2.4 seconds :P

Really cool mod btw, enjoying it a lot, although the petrol and fuel cells are a bit wonky, but it's just like hydrogen is in normal game.

FYI: I am taking hiatus, BUT I'll attempt to keep up this mod. It is actually my best.

Most petrol related ores not too deep, but just a few exceptions.

One more question: How deep should I expect the ores to spawn? :P

This weekend

It changes planet generator files to include the oil generation, and the weathers for each planet are also defined in that file (With the exception of Triton, which has its own file).
The mod will need to be updated to include those entries in order for weather to work.

connector is on the bottom. Runs on Hydrogen.
